I like the West Wing. I watch it semi-regularly (roughly every 4 years I wonder why). I understand it's flaws.

There is absolutely no reason to create a UK version in the Year of Our Lord 2024.

Hello, dear
i'd watch it if it was true to life and there's e.g. an hour long episode just of people flapping about trying to get a heavily intoxicated boris johnson (played by gerard depardieu) off the toilet and ready for PMQs

I don't get the negativity: I'd just LOVE to see a sniggering, self-referential TV series, written about the London political-media bubble, and aimed at the London political-media bubble :colbert:

Make a Yes, Mr. Prime Minister/Veep style show about Liz Truss. Mini series are popular these days.

A Jacobean-style drama about a bunch of vile, power-hungry psychos feuding and backstabbing each other would be great, but we're never going to get it.

They could just use modern technology to replace the faces on Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister with up to date faces and it would still all work.
Things in Westminster politics have hardly changed since the 80s.

If the UK wasn't left out it would be "Boris FURIOUS as Sunak makes us subject to bizarre new Brussels transport tyranny"

The Express:

e: ^ Oh cool, what are you planning with the 8051?

Heck yeah, maybe 2024 be the year of more lurkers coming and posting with us, the UK Manga Thread.

I recently got the Shonen Jump app to catch up with One Piece, so I’ve been reading a fair amount of manga. I loved One Punch Man and Akane-banashi (about a woman’s quest to be the best at traditional Japanese stand up) but they’re not finished stories either :(

Ironically the UK will be paying for it via train ticket prices.
As some of the private UK railway companies are owned by EU transport companies.

Corgis love bread. And Puro

I have spent the entire day not looking at Twitter while trying to avoid spoilers for a wrestling show that happened when I was in bed. It's still annoyingly hard not to just go there while bored and browsing as a sort of reflexive movement.

Fortunately I have finally started watching the All Japan MANIAx show so will be able to return to the hellsite forthwith.

I say this because I really wanted to do a boomer moan about fireworks, rude to set them off while I have a post dinner nap.

Give Undead Unluck a try, it starts crazy then just absolutely goes places.

Also come join the One Piece thread, every week we're just hooting and hollering about how Oda's done it again.

So the kids from the estate opposite counted down the New Year every minute six times until it was the actual one.
Fireworks going off, which are nice, apart from the same estate assholes who are just doing bangers for some reason.
And the fire alarm has just went of on the deserted shop down the road that usually takes an hour for them to come and turn off.
But yeah, Happy New Year!
