To be fair, replacing the battery on a Tesla is going to be a lot more expensive than swapping in a whole new engine and transmission on... almost anything. But anyway, not really surprising. The EV rental experience is abysmal and I bet it's turning off a huge number of people from EVs in general. Hertz is also borderline predatory with how they try to upsell those cars.
