Platystemon posted:I doubt that. Ooh we talking scary nature poison? How bout the spotted water hemlock which not only kills you quickly and completely, but it will hurt the whole time. quote:Every single muscle starts firing and contracting, so you have convulsions, you chew your tongue into ribbons, you vomit but then you can’t open your mouth because the jaw muscles are contracting 10 or 20 times as hard as they normally do, and you die a horrible death. quote:There is nothing good about the plant. Those who eat it will die in two hours. It must be a painful death. It twists the arms and ankles and turns the head back. Finally they die in a last wretching convulsion. They say it turns the eyes back. I will not forage for wild carrots.

Someone can correct me if I've heard wrong, but some birds like quail can safely eat hemlock. However, if you were to eat the quail that ate the hemlock, you'd acquire hemlock poisoning. Hooray! I think that might've been a Agatha Christie novel? So either it's real or I've fallen for a fictional plot.

"orange" is not considered an adjective of colour in French, which means you shouldn't pluralise it: -Les assiettes orange not -Les assiettes oranges Apparently this is because "orange" is derived from a noun and therefore isn't a colour. Unlike "rose" (pink), which is derived from the flower and obviously must be a colour: -Les assiettes roses

There are actually lots of idioms relating to a "3 dollar bill" Which makes this album make a little more sense I had grown up only ever hearing "queer as a three dollar bill." Other idioms are like, phony as, strange as, crooked as, rare as, etc. But also I kind of always thought this album cover was a very hairy butt

Thing I just found out: back in the mid-to-late 00s there was a dumb meme with dancing anime characters combined with a random Swedish bubblegum pop song called Caramelldansen which had been sped up about 20%: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN5kV54kbgY There was a ton of different variations of this dance with different anime characters or anime Hitlers etc etc etc ad infinitum It turns out that the record exec who owned the rights to the original song saw the meme's popularity as his ticket to $$$$$$ but the original band had broken up so he invented a fake band made up of anime girls and has been releasing dozens of new versions of that song plus original songs for over a decade now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI3yD3WAcz4 loving 00s meme culture refuses to die
