It's a very neat and appropriate theme to explore with Middle Earth that Tolkien didn't, so I'm quite happy to overlook the lore discrepancies because they do such a good job with the theme. I won't be watching S2 because it seems to have all the same people in charge as S1 which was a strong contender for one of the most incompetent seasons of TV I've ever seen. This will be a splendid trashfire. Honestly the worst thing is that they couldve done series 1 set in the era of the forging, then do season after about the destruction of eregion and sauron's wars against the elves, show the numenoreans in their glory, and then end with their fall. S1 felt like it tried to do everything all at once at the same time. Like loving learn pacing show.
