The closest competitor is probably the DF64, which is in Gen 2 now, but idk, I owned the Gen 1 and it really seemed like cheap garbage inside - it was easy to strip out the screw threads in the aluminium housing just doing a routine recalibration, and the wires were installed so that they were rubbing on a sharp corner (not good with a big vibrating machine). The Zero has been out for years so it's already battle tested. It has a powerful motor, is really quiet, reliable, and it's easy to change settings are recalibrate. never gave a poo poo about coffee beyond the caffeine in it until i moved to melbourne what a loving wake up call that was. can't fathom the idea of putting sugar in coffee now and fully understand spending thousands on home grinder and espresso setups. it even tastes good black here lol

single dose grinders ftw. if i was setting myself up today id probably get a niche or df64 even though i dont need espresso grinds. big fan of my old ode, i was griping about it getting grinds everywhere but thats literally just a wet paper towel to fix.
