You know, it's also entirely possible the reason Wade's wife agreed to settle out of court is because her accusations were false and contradicted by actual evidence so instead of going to court and getting crushed and penalized she agreed to drop the claims. Everyone assumed she was bought off to keep it secret but the reverse is also quite possible.

Then she found out that it's being pulled mostly from thin air and conjecture and backed off (with Wade maybe also offering her something to make sure she stays out). Seems unlikely.
