It’s when the ground is warm but the air up to really high up is cold. Freezing fog will usually mean really bad black ice.

I was pushing pretty hard for this devops job because I thought it was the only way I had anyway to keep my job as manual testing goes the way of the dodo.

Turns out that I no longer have to do software releases at ungodly hours and I'm like one of the 3 ppl at the company that still knows how 1/3rd of the internal software is supposed to work.

Person that got the job is working 12 hours days doing updates to production and trying to keep the test environments up to date.

This is my second week of working 8 to 5 instead of 8 to 5 plus a random fix to test and push at 8pm 4 days a week.

It's going to be rough finding a new job when this place goes under but I'm saving all the money I can preemptively for that hunt for when I'm unemployed.

They pushed for it harder than me and won. Congrats to her I'd say. The hours suck but honestly this is a good fit for their ADHD they get to control everything and keep it clean lol. They were always a little annoyed if I had a sentence in the wrong font of a 20 page release notes document that was just for auditors and no one was reading anyway.

Annual review is coming up in March and then I'll really know if I hosed up or not.

Humidifiers in the winter rule. I have a smaller one in the bedroom, and a larger one in the living room, and run them basically 24/7 during the winter. No more dry skin, AND no more static electricity in the winter.

I go through about 4 gallons of water a day. And 4 gallons of water is about 35 pounds. So the air in my house is about 35 pounds heavier than it would be without the humidifiers. Which is a wild thing to think about.
