PSA the stalker lair usually looks something like this: Sometimes with webbing around/over it. It does NOT show as a red spot on the heat map. You have to see what direction the stalkers are coming from and hunt them down. Sometimes a mission will spawn more than one lair.

I tried leaving for work while in the login lottery and I just got home 8 hours later and I'm still not logged in  I just submitted a refund request that hopefully goes through and I'll consider re-buying the game when it's actually playable lmao

I've generally been really surprised with the luck I've had with pubbies so far, with the exception of this evening. Played an "escort NPCs from one cupboard to another" mission, and as I was running round slapping buttons like they'd been naughty, my team mates were getting into extended and fruitless shooting matches with the bots. At one point I left the objective to hoover up samples and treats around the map, and when I came back five minutes later not a single additional scientist had been rescued. Like, god drat, guys. Come on. Press one button. Please. I'm begging you.

Played with some randos for a bit. Two of the guys wouldn't stop trying to kill each other and another, everyone kept killing all of us by throwing down air strokes way too close, and everyone kept killing my turrets. Great game with perfectly good player base. Took me like 20 minutes to get logged in earlier. Can't wait to try tonight during prime time and wait 3 hours.

I saw a rumor that it was likely an AFK kick since tons of people are just idling AFK to avoid having to go through the login again, which is kind of a feedback loop.

The bits of dialogue in this are so good. The first one I got was a tech telling me she had reset the clock to “liberty savings time” and she was going to use the extra hour to do maintenance checks and that means she doesn’t have to do overtime that night Just so good

Has anybody found a real niche for heat damage yet? I want to like the laser weapons, but goddamn so far they just seem plain inferior to just about any other option in the respective slot, theoretically infinite ammo really isn't that much of an advantage in practice.

The (laser) guard dog is extremely good for bugs at least. Keeps the little shits away while I'm trying to line up a railgun shot. Less useful on bots.

Lots of jokes like "wow we liberated this planet just in time before they could deploy the WMDs!" e: you had to dodge lots of bullets and light wall shields and stuff while avoiding incoming enemy melee. they had a particularly hated/hellish psychic power guy that reversed your controls.
