Perestroika posted:Having so much coastline but overwhelmingly shitass beaches would be a good explanation why the British are Like That. The UK doesn't have beaches, it has coastlines. Went to the UK when I was young and visited the seaside several times. They were all just nasty rocks the size of your fist, covered in a hundred years worth of washed up bunker fuel, discarded fast food and used condoms. Yet there were still people lying on the rocks with just a towel under them. Can't imagine how badly that would gently caress up your back after a few hours. Extremely can't imagine what it would be like trying to have sex on those rocks. Ouch.

The UK also has columnists that claim that they swam in sewage and it never did them any harm. Normal country.

UK coastline is stunning in places, like yes we obviously don't have a Mediterranean climate that makes year round beach going a thing but is that really news? There's a mix of sandy/rugged/rocky beaches and bays across all the islands. Obviously the government mismanagement of pollution and wastewater is lol, gently caress them forever for that and a billion different reasons.

I watch a Youtuber who shows walks along their English beaches and they have all kinds of sweet fossils and sea glass. Fossilized ammonites and cool rocks as far as the eye can see and it seems pretty sweet to me.

It was concealed with the rest of the line, probably to do just that, probably by the kind of property owner who never answers the door without a gun I have to admire their restraint at not putting a spike pit concealed behind it at least
