Shops on red stake seem tailor designed to screw you over if you have something like Constellation or a negative tag. I've been beating my head against it with green deck to no avail, maybe another deck will do better.

 I went from not winning any games to whatever the heck this was (my 2nd ever win). This was the real star of the show:  Blueprint doubling a 9.5x Canio just murdered blinds left and right, and I had 2 Pair at level 11 (and most other hands above 5 or 6) thanks to all the free planets I was getting. I should have ditched the 8 ball, but I got greedy trying to level up more hands.

This game is rad. Seems pretty well balanced, and gives you the ability to start the roguelike steamroll without stopping you which is cool. In some cases it seems like you're expected to know how to do it! My first game after the tutorial. I had Space Joker for most of it. A massively leveled two pair of even hearts with Lusty Joker (why) got me the best hand there.  This thing saved my rear end twice. 1.5x mult and +50 chips together. Sticking a Hierophant on it made a Bonus Card totaling +100 chips nearly beat my best hand. Best combo of seals/editions/foils you've seen? Why was the final boss on Ante 8 the stupid one that triples the required score. I scored 246k / 300k  If it was a 'normal' boss I'd have only have needed 100k I had a broke AF High Card x12 deck with multipliers and chips everywhere Oh well, next run  Pwnstar posted:

 Game ate my win screen, but this was one of those runs that felt bonkers in every respect but score. Three negative Jokers and a Legendary (8 in total), constant Flush Fives in 3s of Hearts, and I still couldn't crack a couple of mil per hand. I think I'm coming around on Yorick, though he does require way too much prep time to be useful for anything but the final normal ante unless you get him really early on. EDIT: Added Arcanuse's big money run to the front. Let people want me to add one of the Aces ones, just a little hesitant on the all-Aces ones since it was technically cheated in, although due to the Smeared Joker in play was functionally the same as unaltered. Probably going to ask for the thread rename though, if the mods will allow it, although it does look like someone might have asked for it by reporting the OP? Have I missed something obvious about how the Decks work? I unlocked the second (blue?) one that mentioned +1 hand per round and I thought it sounded great, as I'd get an extra turn per game. But it doesn't seem to do anything; every game has just 5 hands.

ooh front page, nice and yeah, Triggers are King as one Triboulet (2x Multiplier on King/Queen scoring) shows. ...buuut with the important caveat that Retriggs are only as useful as the cards getting retriggered. Some extra chips are nice, but disgusting multiplier stacking is the real good stuff. e: some vaguely useful fun numbers for the front page and folks; E.G. The black deck is giving me a rough time. You think one extra joker slot is worth anything and then you die penniless for your hubris. I've never restarted runs or died on ante 1 or 2 this often, or just scraped by into ante 5 and later. Only a good flush or better can beat the first hand in one round, which feels necessary to have a shot at buying the very cool poo poo you need to continue or make use of the deck power... it's a good "gently caress it" deck I guess because it forces you play really tactically but also just spend money knowing you need everything to make those 3 default hands count...

My advice is skip the first two blinds and then go for broke on the boss. Yes, it takes a fair bit of luck to get two straights or better in 3 hands but it's actually reasonably doable and the rewards from skipping are generally better than what you'd get playing through the first two rounds normally. If the shop doesn't cooperate you may not be much better off on the boss anyhow and the big blind is just an added point of failure if you get particularly unlucky.

Okay, I'm at a crossroads and need some advice.  My Jokers are: Business Card - Face Cards have a 50% chance to give $2 when scored. Spare Trousers - Gives +2 mult if playued hands contains a two pair (Currently +70 mult) (Holographic - +10 mult) Abstract Joker - +3 mult for each Joker card (Currently +15 mult) (Polychrome - x1.5 mult) THE BULL - +2 chips for every dollar you have (Currently +506 chips) (Polychrome - X1.5 mult) Card Sharp - X3 Mult if played poker hand has already been played this round. And the one in the shop is "+13 mult for each Queen in hand". As implied in my last post, I have FOURTEEN QUEENS in my deck (as well as 7 Kings and 9 Jacks). So this is really tempting! But I dunno who I sell to make it happen. Do I sell Abstract, giving up one of my Polychromes? Do I sell Business Card, giving up my money scaling and slowing down THE BULL? Or do I just not pick up the Queen at all?

It was super nice and got me through the mid level antes before I found more sources of mult.

Depending on what tags you picked up this run, if you have the ability to get $10-20 from your interest, you can probably just sell Business Card as while it's helping with The Bull, it isn't directly helping with scaling. It also depends on what hands you are playing and your available hand size. While +13 mult per Queen sounds great, you have to first draw those queens and then not play those queens for other hands. You'll have to consider if an extra 0-52 mult is worth it.

I sold Business Card and picked up Shoot the Moon. I think it was the right call because the next boss was 1.1 mil Serpent (only draw 3 cards after play/discard) and I barely squeaked by him with the extra mult I was able to scrape together. Pretty sure I would've lost with Business Card.
