Failed Imagineer posted:I guess if I'm going to post that poll a few days ago about Labours polling lead slipping, I should at least post the counterfactual update today Lots of these polls suggest Glasgow will swing back to Labour, and I do think that's plausible, but I wonder how much all this loving about on Gaza is going to affect that. I know for me this whole business has convinced me to vote SNP again when previously I was considering not voting/spoiling my ballot, and I wonder how many others are thinking the same thing.

Well he posts those same popular vote totals in the first reply. Seat projections from national polling always requires a lot of assumptions and secret sauce, so it's worth keeping front of mind that this is just some disaffected leftoid doing quasi poo poo posting with polling data. It might be true, but I mostly only look at it for a source of lol and schad

It is your duty as a Scot to vote for the party best placed to gently caress Keith, which in all cases is the Scottish National Party.

It should also be noted that the recent constituency changes could gently caress over Tories since in a landslide scenario they create more marginals which then could go Labour.

i don't for a second believe those seat numbers are going to look anything near that but it is very funny to imagine there's a timeline in which tories being the third party behind labour+LDs means the latter push each other to actually improve the country. but unfortunately we're in the timeline where we'd be slapping two bags of wet eggs against each other Nuclear Spoon fucked around with this message at 15:56 on Feb 22, 2024 |

Had to google who the Lib Dem leader even is, it's still Sir Edward Jonathan Davey. I bet his dining situation is even more bizarre than Farage and Hoyle, chair on the ceiling and TV on the floor with a fan to blow biscuits around or some poo poo, but afaik nobody is even interested enough to document it, so he may just spend all his time lurking near rivers and bus stations.

Amazing that they've somehow got everyone going off about one of two Eastern Mediterranean countries and not a single reply that I can see about the NHS, in Britain, which is what the tweet was supposed to be about. Made all those 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧s at their presentations and all over their literature worth it.

I think it's engagement baiting. I only know 1 or 2 people in 'real' life who use twitter. They are completely oblivious to a lot of what we post about on here. Most of the people I engage with IRL* are say 40-80 yo and almost all of them rely on BBC as a bastion of truth and bringing to public awareness anything important, and if they're of a leftish inclination trust the Graun, and if of a right wing inclination trust The Times. Twitter has (e; or, well, had) a bunch of reasonably normal people around and unless you're personal mufos you're never going to see them, everything else is either engagement bait, trolling, or the worst kind of spiderbrainwormed gammon who has given Elon Musk $8 to be able to post worse.

I would suggest that Being Normal probably involves not being subscribed to keir starmer's twitter. That seems like the kind of thing that would be both product and cause of brain worms.

Otoh Labour's complete lack of any domestic or Commonwealth policies has left them wide open to being torn apart over I/P, because what the gently caress else do they have? Fixing the schools? Cutting the plastic and paraffin wax cladding off of people's homes? Nationalizing the water? Creating a shipbuilding program to help out the Caribbean when extreme weather comes which you can pitch as both 'green jobs' and 'stronk navy'? Chewing the Tories and Blairites out for allowing the domestic deterrent to be replaced with 50 tons of yankee chipboard that falls off the boat? Nah. Venezuela is openly threatening to steal 2/3rds of Guyana, something that only the most potato brained tankie who thinks that Maduro is actually a socialist supports? *crickets chirping* Sticking your dick in a 70 year old meatgrinder and managing to do it with all the sincerity and commitment of a Home Counties fund manager saying "food poverty is terrible" on Facebook while trying to claim their kids' private school fees as charitable donations? Hell yeah I'm t..tough enough. I'm kinda glad they're getting poo poo on for their barest attempt at policy even if it is by an agent smith legion of
