THUNDERDOME LOSER 2022

Someone post that study on Freep about how half of undocumented immigrants to the US are visa overstayers. Let's set up squares on liberal media lies, they're the good ones, my grandparents immigrated that way not by crossing a river, they're not stealing are jerbs, etc. We can have a contest!

I'm not sure if whiplash about half of undocumented immigrants not coming across the Rio Grande would provoke contrariness for the sake of it, or if they would just conclude that all of them would vote Democrat and thus should be strung up.

The name the man used in the video – which has not been shared publicly – matches a LinkedIn account for an active-duty Air Force officer from Texas...

I find this hard to believe.

But, if true, better he torched himself than betraying our nation. And Israel.

Same here. Didn’t read the article. Hope they let him burn and then kicked the ashes into the gutter. Even by the time I retired around 15 years ago, I felt like a relic of a different age. When I started flying, we still had Vietnam vets flying with us. One Colonel on staff was a former POW with limited mobility in one arm. They drilled into us not to let another war be fought like that.

But I think the warrior ethos has been sucked out of the military and society. One family member works at McDonalds. He says most of his coworkers cannot lift a 50 pound box of supplies and most spend more time on their phones than working - including the managers. He figures if we’re ever invaded, the only ones who might put up much of a fight would be the people over 50.

It has reached the point he wonders if someone is putting something in the water supply. I told him it was just the effect of public schools.

“Unfortunately, the number of truly rigorous and enlightening courses available to UNC students continues to dwindle. In their place, the course catalog is increasingly filled with postmodern, intersectional, and critical theory-based offerings. Why bore English majors with lectures on Jane Austen or William Shakespeare when you can instead provide them with courses such as English 687, “Queer LatinX Environmentalisms”?...

Islam and Sexual Diversity” is offered by the religious studies department. “Diversity and Inclusion at Work” is available at the business school. Interdisciplinary studies students can take “Increasing Diversity in STEM Research.”

A search for “equity,” meanwhile, leads to illuminating courses such as “Decolonizing Maternal and Child Health,” a seminar that “provides … an opportunity to examine key theories and qualitative methodologies that advance anti-racist, abolitionist, intersectional feminist, and emancipatory scholarship for health equity and reproductive justice.”

We've had crazies in the military since 2009.

I was drafted in '59 and once they took me, I know the Army had at least one crazy. I was from WPa and got sent to FT.Jackson in SC on a train from Chicago through Pittsburgh.

On the train I sat with a black kid from Chicago and we were sent to the same barracks.

The first time we had a weekend off we went in to Columbia together and got arrested by MPs for traveling together.

Crazy me, I didn't know that two soldiers that slept side by side, were in basic training together were going to get sent to a foreign country together...were not allowed to take a bus and then walk the streets together in America.

My first exposure to real racism and segregation, and it was ugly.

In W PA we went to school with black kids, played little league baseball and football together and my parents never used any derogatory language regarding blacks { I did, but I never considered it to be any different than, dago, hunky or spic {of which I was a combined mixture}.

We were crazy, but not the same kind of crazy as a guy lighting himself on fire, I'll pass.

back in the 70’s and 80’s there were black folks in commercials as well and noone objected- We never even gave it a thought- but now-a-days it’s how they are depicted, and how white folks are depicted that people are objecting to- The woke advertisers have gone way overboard trying to indoctrinate the ‘unwashed masses’ with their socialist anti-white agenda-

Annoying ads pop up about every 30 minutes and you would think we were living in Nigeria. I don’t particularly care what race is in an ad but it is so obviously anti white and pro race mixing with white women (I have not seen any white men with black women) they are ridiculous.

One thing that makes it nice watching the Eastern European movies and documentaries are they don’t randomly place blacks in prominent roles. But I’m sure some day Jan Sobieski and Charles Martel will be cast by blacks as they kick out EXTREME MAGA REPUBLICANS from Brussels.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people.

This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.

That criticism of Trump in that article was very thin on actual details.

My larger take is this: If the GOP actually pushed to create an enforceable border policy, fought against DEI/CRT, all the gender bending non-sense, sending manufacturing to China, and anti-police policy perhaps there would be no Trump.

But because the GOP bent over and took it from the Dems they created a vacuum that Trump filled.

Say what you will about Trump’s personality (I roll my eyes when I hear some of his comments myself), but he fights for things that most Americans agree with. Heck, I even think a large percentage of Dems agree with Trumps policies, but they are so ‘owned’ by the system they are too afraid to act like grown men and women and say it.

No, NATO expansion is mostly due to former soviet republics looking at what is happening in Russia and saying "Yeah, we want no part of that, how about we join you in case he tries to take us back?" If anyone deserves blame for NATO expansion, it is Putin and his cronies for what they've turned Russia into. NATO has never engaged in aggressor military action, and Europe was making no moves to do so. The causus belli for Ukraine is entirely fabricated, and those who deny it are deluding themselves.

VitalSigns

It's probably both.

International actions don't happen in a vacuum, it's likely Russia is at least partially reacting to NATO, even if one thinks NATO expansion was justified that's a different question from whether Putin would have invaded Ukraine if NATO had stopped at incorporating a reuinified Germany as President Bush (allegedly) promised.

It seems like an odd bugbear for some people given that most of the military-involved problems in the world have occured without involving it. I usually find complaints about it to be comorbid with a broader idea that there exists a unique and exceptional western moral depravity that I don't really think exists. The right usually couches in in new-world-order type stuff while praising the imagined traditional masculine superiority of those outside of morally degenerate USA and europe, while the left-flavoured complaint seems to be that it is an agent of exceptional material wrongs and I don't really see that either of those things make a lot of sense, especially as the cause of most of the wars in the world seems to be the capabiltiy of states to conduct independent military action.

I think someone from the Wade/Willis side got to Bradley over the weekend and threatened him about remembering anything. Hence the questions about who he had talked to about the case (emphasis on "recently").

The problem for Bradley, Wade, and Willis is that there isn't a jury and the Judge is making mental notes of Bradley's forgetfulness and protests about his earlier text messages and emails (i.e., "I wuz focused only on the $74,000").

As loyal Leftie Katie Phang said on MSNBC late yesterday, "Why would Bradley lie knowing he's risking his law license?"

Why indeed?

IIRC, closing arguments are scheduled for this coming Friday. Bradley gave the defense plenty of ammo by failing to remember his texts and emails to Ashleigh Merchant and by once again trying to claim attorney/client privilege for some details. He impeached himself as a witness for Wade/Willis and gave credence to his earlier emails and texts.

As Bradley's earlier email/text said about the Wade/Willis affair starting before Wade was hired, "Absolutely." The Judge isn't a jury. "Absolutely" isn't something the judge is going to overlook.

My takeaway so far is that the Judge has plenty of support for a decision to disqualify Willis and Wade (at a minimum). The $64,000 question is whether or not he will cave to the same threats that Bradley got.

In the case of Fani and Nat....neither seem that bright, and I wouldn’t advise any person (black or white) to use them for legal representation. If the state bar is that screwed up...says a lot for guys sitting in jail or prison.

So, if the White House is suggesting Java over C++, is it ‘cause their own hacks can snoop on Java more easily than C++? Is C++ what the white hats are using, and the fascist goons in O’Biden’s regime are having trouble prying into their business?

And now for something completely different. Here's White House urges developers to avoid C and C++, use 'memory-safe' programming languages posted by freeper yesthatjallen

This is the article that was linked.

quote:

The government would prefer it if you stopped programming tools in C or C++. In a new report, the White House Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) has called on developers to use "memory-safe programming languages," a category which excludes the popular languages. The advice is part of U.S. President Biden's Cybersecurity strategy and is a move to "secure the building blocks of cyberspace."

Memory safety refers to protection from bugs and vulnerabilities which deal with memory access. Buffer overflows and dangling pointers are examples of this. Java is considered a memory-safe language due to its runtime error detection checks. However, C and C++ both allow arbitrary pointer arithmetic with direct memory addresses and no bounds checking.

...

This is actually an area where I've got a bit of knowledge. The reasoning being given here is that C and C++ allows and in many cases requires that developers manage (that is, allocate and deallocate) memory for applications themselves. If you're not careful, this allows for memory leaks to occur (where more and more memory is allocated to your program that it doesn't need anymore, but you forgot to deallocate, eventually causing your computer to run out of free RAM and for your program to crash), or, more relevant to the report, for a malicious actor to hack at the memory to either read information that's supposed to be secret or otherwise get your program to do undesirable things. The worst of these are known as remote code execution vulnerabilities, where an attacker can hijack your program and run whatever code they want with your credentials. Here's a rather spectacular example of such a vulnerability, where Minecraft is hijacked and replaced with a Java port of Doom through a (now fixed) vulnerability in the Log4J Java library.

These vulnerabilities in C and C++ are not news. They are widely known, but most developers these days will be taught in languages that manage memory for you, through periodic garbage collection or some other scheme. I can see this report being a warning in that regard - An inexperienced programmer working in C or C++ can create something that's full of security holes pretty easily. I had a whole class on that back in school.

I agree with you.

As a result of these past few years and of the unfortunate presidents and administrations with which decent Americans have had to contend, I am for a dramatic change in laws and how crime and treachery is to be handled.

I believe that drug use is proving to be the downfall of American society. Therefore, laws should be changed to allow a swift trip through the justice apparatus for drug dealers to a timely execution. As for the users, they should be given a reasonable time to be cured of their habit and if they fail to do so they should follow their dealers into the grave. After all, they are indeed a tremendous drag on society and have no use whatsoever pretending to be a apart of a decent and polite society.

A monstrous and unmanageable central government is of no use to a caring citizenry. It must be met head on in a sincere move to emasculate it in such a drastic way as to discourage attempts to reassemble the beast. All agencies of no use to this nation should be eliminated like the Department of Education.

Borders clamped tightly shut and the flow of potential citizens stemmed.

The system of courts must be thoughtfully reorganized. The result must be one that Operates swiftly and efficiently.

The term of president must be six years with two terms. The Senate must revert BACK to two two year terms with limited expenses and personnel allotted to each. He House should be a limit of four two year terms with expenses and personnel drastically reduced.

The CIA and FBI needs to be drastically changed and duties assigned to only one agency. All leftist members must be rooted out.

The sinful stupidity of pedestalizing (sic) perverted people as ones to be honored should be halted. Sodomy should be treated for what it is: an abomination. Prison should be the home for offenders. Any practice of transsexualism should be outlawed, and adherents carted off to prison.

The military is for soldiers and sailors and not for homosexuals and lesbians.

Foreign aid must be stopped and embassies only in nations with which we have a legitimate interest.

If this Republic is to survive all the above must be considered and acted upon. The majority must rule, otherwise we’re lost.

Russia is less than half the size of the US with much less wealth. Just as the US was quick to deploy and threaten with nuclear weapons use against the USSR (with its large conventional army and population), so it is rational for Russia to use its nuclear weapons as a deterrent against globalist aggression. Indeed it would be surprising and irrational for them not to do so. And of course the propaganda forces in the West will depict this utterly rational behavior as unhinged madness.

Finally tonight, Exorcists warn involvement in Freemasonry exposes the soul to the demonic posted by freeper xoxox

the article posted:

Msgr. Charles Pope, a seasoned priest in exorcism and deliverance ministry, criticized public dialogue among prelates and Freemasons, emphasizing the grave sin and spiritual danger of Freemasonry, which he says invites demonic influence.
[...]
He said this was for two reasons. First, it “gives the impression” that being involved in Freemasonry “is no big deal,” undermining Catholic teaching that being part of Masonry is gravely sinful and spiritually dangerous, incurring the penalty of an automatic excommunication. Msgr. Pope affirmed that involvement in Freemasonry exposes the soul to the demonic.

Second, Msgr. Pope said that if any dialogue is engaged in with sinners, “it should be private, not a public conversion.” Public discussions only create “confusion” and “scandal,” he insisted.

Pope explained that in exorcisms and deliverance ministry, Masonic possessions and obsessions are extremely serious, involving generational curses stemming from vows pronounced by a man during Masonic rituals. Pope said that Masonic curses sometimes remain for up to seven generations, and that in deliverance ministry, such curses were discovered to be far more frequent than at first imagined.

He added that, given the frequency of Masonic curses and the near impossibility of tracing Masonic involvement back seven generations, at the St. Michael Center, prayers of deliverance for demonic obsession and possession include “as a matter of course” the renunciation of Masonic vows and the breaking of Masonic curses, which is accomplished after three days of intense prayer.

It's LifeSiteNews, which I've never actually managed to visit before. It turns out that it's just a loving blog, with categories and tags! Other article titles in the "demonic possession" tag include:

Lifesitenews is kinda like sites like TruNews, NowTheEndBegins or RuthInstitute where literally everything on it is one insane bigoted person's project and they just kinda magnetically pull lovely writers in to make "articles" about their pet hatreds. LifeSiteNews in particular is a tradcath outlet throwing together "articles" scraping twitter responses to anything LGBTQ-related, which still takes time to whine about how Pope Francis is a horrible tyrant and Vatican II isn't legitimate. I'm pretty sure that their anti-Freemasonry focus is just them trying to leech off of Alex Jones' fanbase.

It's a news "source" that is there to rile up and create viral discussion amongst Freeper types. My local hate group (that happened to be established enough to buy up a bunch of radio stations) essentially reads their articles on-air verbatim. It's there to make Grandpa angry and that's about it.

Senator Joseph McCarthy was (and still is to this day) vilified by the Left for his “irresponsible smearing of innocent people”, “trampling on their rights” and “ruining the lives of innocent people”.

It is all Leftist smear tactics. He did nothing of the sort. Quite the contrary, he was very sensitive to naming people, even people he was 100% sure in his mind where their priorities and loyalties lay, because he didn’t want people to be tagged in that way before a real judicial process to determine innocence or guilt had been completed, and his committee was NOT that kind of process.

What you find in reading the records of the actual committees was that when he did reveal a name or names, it was because he had been badgered and FORCED to by the Democrats.

And they were not pressuring him to reveal names to find the truth or especially not to pass them to the DOJ/FBI for investigation and prosecution.

They were pressuring McCarthy for three reasons: To create the image he was running roughshod over people’s rights, to create a sympathetic victim, and to open McCarthy up to censure by the Senate. (I believe, as part of the Committee he ran, he was immune to libel and slander charges)

In the end, and McCarthy said this often, he was not interested in denying Communists the right to work or live in America. He simply didn’t think they should be in a position to be privy to sensitive material useful to their communist masters, and worked diligently to bring their existence to light where they did, and deny them the privilege of working in sensitive government positions or in the military, due to the inherent antagonistic conflict between Communism and a Constitutional Republic.

According to him, and I agree, those two things could not co-exist.

GOLLOCKS!
Why the United States Went ‘Communist’ posted by freeper MtnClimber

It's a piece in American "Thinker" and yes it is somehow dumber than the title implies. There is no communism mentioned in the article at all, not even the "communism" that the American right wing thinks exists in America. It's an incoherent screed about lobbyists, the lack of political influence by the church, and, of course, the destruction of the Black family unit and emasculation of Black men. Get a load of this poo poo.

the middle of the article posted:

But these are not where it began. Like many good intentions gone awry, it all began with how we addressed the most basic problem of modern industrial society: the problem of the poor. If the “Deep State” is defined as powerful people using impersonal bureaucracies to forcibly control the private lives of millions of non-criminal citizens, the original “Deep State” is the welfare state.

The 2020 coup began with George Floyd’s death in a Minneapolis ghetto — that is, within dysfunctional and violent welfare communities. Welfare also provides the political base for groups like Black Lives Matter and elevates mediocrities like Kamala Harris to office, starting usually as prosecutors before becoming politicians.

Welfare accomplished what slavery and segregation could not: it destabilized the African-American family and created a permanent underclass of impoverished single mothers, fatherless children, and criminalized fathers. Because every social pathology is directly attributable to fatherless homes, the result was a self-destructive horde of criminals, delinquents, truants, addicts, prostitutes, and derelicts that proceeded to tear down their own communities and quickly populated the world’s most massive prison system. It also created armies of functionaries to administer their lives, with a self-interest in perpetuating their dependency and expanding the havoc. It also bred an angry subculture of victimization, entitlement, and resentment.

The Canary in the Mineshaft

But the welfare state’s pivotal achievement was the degradation of a figure whom everyone, left and right, now loves to hate: the young, low-income black male. Conservatives cite wasteful social programs as proof that America is not racist and even expect gratitude, but none of the programs benefited black men in any way. All served to marginalize and emasculate the black male: state officials usurping his provider role with numerous handouts to single mothers, along with the acquisition of quasi–police powers by social workers that not only usurped his protector role, but then targeted him as the foremost threat to his own women and children, with measures ostensibly against “child abuse” and “domestic violence” and enforcing “child support.”

The resulting tidal wave of both real criminality and concocted criminalization, parallelling similar trends elsewhere, rationalized the criminal justice system abolishing civil liberties and due process protections. “Assembly-line” hearings (lasting a minute or two), eliminating jury trials, extortionate plea bargaining, fabricated evidence, framing defendants, “crimes” for which acquittal is not possible — all this was pioneered for young black men before being expanded to the rest of us. It provided the rehearsal for today’s weaponized “lawfare” operations against Donald Trump, the January 6 defendants, and anyone else who resists the leftist takeover.

The military was likewise transformed into a gargantuan welfare state, catering to single mothers and expelling servicemen for “sexual harassment.” Welfare policies even became part of military operations themselves. Universities followed, abandoning both education and scholarship in favor of activism, reinforced with similarly trumped up accusations of sexual something-or-other. Most devastating of all, the welfare machinery and the underclass it bred expanded throughout middle-class society, using “no-fault” divorce, accompanied by more sexual accusations, producing more dysfunctional fatherless adolescents and “empowered” functionaries.

So successful was this mass feminization that #MeToo expanded operations still more by targeting celebrities and political opponents. The contempt for black men was extended to all men. This furnished the radical left with the weapons and machinery to stage its coup.

As all this overwhelms us, the professional right-wing establishment averts its eyes, holds its tongue, buries its head, and looks for excuses to do nothing or even to abet the left. Its foolish, too-often-repeated insistence that this is all simply “cultural Marxism” serves as an excuse to avoid these issues, ignore the dynamics that brought the left to power, preserve its own privileges and fiefdoms, and run away from danger. We defeated communism, after all, so if we just continue fighting the Cold War and extolling the virtues of private ownership and free markets, we will stop the left from mutilating children, starting wars, and imprisoning its opponents, and it will relinquish power.

However, none of that was copied and pasted over to freep. They only get the opening paragraphs and the fuckery about lobbyist groups.

the article posted:

Some four years ago, the radical left staged what amounted to a coup d’état and took control of the United States government. The events surrounding that coup — and the horrific policies that followed — have been described many times: the COVID “vaccine” hoax, rigged elections, imprisoning dissenters, weaponizing the Judiciary, open borders, the pointless killing in Ukraine. Yet no one has explained why all this happened or how to stop it.

The fact that no scholars or media have even attempted to explain this power-grab itself partly reveals the explanation. If we ask why people on the left took power, then eventually someone will ask why people on the right allowed it to. The next logical question then arises: why should we continue listening to them, following them, giving them money...?

Who wants to guess how many of the 60+ posts in the thread demonstrate that they read the article? two ahahahaha

Agreed. IMHO the roots of communism began with the belief in Unitarianism (that Jesus isn't divine and God is not a Trinity). Once that became in vogue among the wealthy in the west, Karl Marx's Liberation Theology became more attractive and was the next step downward.

Details:
Liberation Theology is based on Marx's dividing up everybody between the have's and the have not's, with the have's always evil and the have not's always the heroes and should be in charge (by having government more involved in our lives so evil capitalism can't control us, at least as Marx put it). Marx both hated religion when it suited him, and loved it when he could use it to push Marxism. So in Liberation Theology, Jesus is redefined as being just a poor member of the have not's Who was never divine -- the kind of person who would embrace more government to protect the poor.

The source here is a Fortune article that links up some other threads I've covered here in freep's endless crusade to prove they're the hardest workers to grace the Earth.
Gen Zers are waving goodbye to ‘soul-sucking’ 9-to-5 jobs as social media convinces them to ditch corporate careers

Fortune posted:

It’s official: After dipping their toes into the working world and spending a handful of years on the job, Gen Zers are already over the traditional nine-to-five grind.
...
For starters, young workers are unimpressed by their wages. ...
female Gen Zers were 13% more likely than men to grumble that their salaries haven’t kept up with the pace of living.
Others are disappointed with their work-life balance—or lack thereof. ...
Credit Karma’s research shows that some are embracing a penny-pinching lifestyle to turn that dream of escaping the conventional grind into a reality.
For the majority (43%), this looks like cutting back on nonessential spending like shopping and dining out.
Over a third of respondents said they’d even work odd jobs to make ends meet—otherwise known as polyworking.
Meanwhile, a quarter of the youngsters surveyed would be willing to give up the adulthood milestone of independent living and move back in with their families to cut back on costs.
Employers who want to retain these workers before they quit the corporate rat race for good would do well to “adapt,” says Courtney Alev, consumer financial advocate at Credit Karma. After all, by next year Gen Z will make up more than a quarter of the workforce.

It all depends on the definitions of the words you are using.

Most people are poor at some time in life and well off in others.

Many people think of "the rich" as anybody making a few dollars more than them.

Regulation of business costs consumers and employees as much as the business owners, as the costs are simply passed on. Much regulation is useless and simply punitive.

Regulation and high taxes are what prevent many people from becoming well off.

To think otherwise is delusional.

Yesterday, there were 2 company box trucks, 2 smaller company trucks, a tan minivan (electrician, I think), until almost midnight.

That doesn’t include the iron workers that previously brought in a huge steel beam, the tree company that took out some massive hardwoods, or other tradesmen. I don’t think the painting has even begun.

I didn’t believe there were companies around that worked like that anymore. Not sure of the “nationality” of the workers, although a few are short & swarthy. Heck, they were over there last Thanksgiving. I seriously doubt there are any Gen Z’ers over there.
