I do hate dogs, but I'm not looking to exterminate or make them suffer. Edit: and certainly not game to fight one.

To be clear my experience was intensely unpleasant and I would not ever attempt it again. It was very poorly thought out and displays how stupid I could be in my early 20s.

Butterfly Valley posted:You double fault when you're trying to smash unreturnable serves into the very corners, which is necessary against elite tennis players. Against a random guy I'd happily bet she'd be more than capable of going a whole match either bouncing unreturnable serves into the corners or smashing hard ones straight down the middle that people would break their wrists trying to return. A whole normal match maybe, but I still think the loophole here is an endless marathon match for charity or something. Eventually even Williams gets tired. It just says I have to take a point, it doesn't say the score can't be 80,000-1 when it happens

haveblue posted:Not great, but also not at the end of 36 hours of continuous serving I don't think that's how that works, you switch off serves at odd games so after she flattens you in the 1st game, you get to serve. Which will be worse, because I'm going to assume the average goon is going to fault and let a bunch while she rests and then barely taps it back. I'm sure eventually she would make a mistake, so you could still succeed as long as it's not limited to a real match format.

Busted! A 200+ year old pub suffering from subsidence was sold and mysteriously burned down almost immediately. The owners demolished it within days without permission. Now they have to rebuild it back exactly as it was. https://metro.co.uk/2024/02/27/owners-britains-wonkiest-pub-ordered-rebuild-brick-brick-20356659

It happened here in Australia as well when developers bought a 150 year old pub in 2016 and demolished it with planning permission, then got fined over a million dollars, had to serve jail time and have been ordered to rebuild it. They're still trying to wriggle out of that, and it looks like the case will be headed back to court soon: https://www.innercitynews.com.au/cowboy-corkman-developers-set-to-face-vcat-over-breach/
