The redesign is interesting, if a little bit headachy for our purposes, but...um...as a paid subscriber, should I be seeing next week's comics? Is that a new feature or just a new bug?

e: Well, this explains a lot. Early access to strips for subscribers is part of the redesign. Somebody's been paying attention to Patreon. The individual images probably have something to do with a pivot to mobile that was mentioned somewhere else ('think vertical instead of horizontal").

Yup, looks like they're doing a lovely redesign. :sigh: It should be possible to update the downloader script to match; I'll take a stab at it once the dust settles (they do still have a "please bear with us as we work to get the site running smoothly" banner up). I'm not familiar with the author's other work's pacing, has it been on a regular schedule like this? I don't think I've seen someone hit the ground running so solidly who didn't start falling apart before the end of the first month.

I haven't read his other stuff yet(my mortal grappling with the passage of time, attention span, etc) but taking a look he has a weekly that doesn't miss a beat for years it seems. Dude's a true professional.

A lot of clunkers can keep up with the daily art output or are smart enough to prepare enormous backlogs but I also notice they tend to succumb to awful pacing issues, whether unintentionally or by shameless design. Mary Worth milked about 3 lines of dialogue from Keith's drive into 7 strips and the same 2 perspective shots ad nauseum. That's just the hustle when you become a newspaper lifer, I guess, but it's also why most newspaper strips suck.
