One of the funniest work things I’ve ever witnessed was during a company Q&A where execs said they weren’t rolling back some unpopular changes to promotions & comp, and there was a flood of negative emoji that just wouldn’t stop. You could see this slow terror creep across their faces at the realization that even though the changes had been rolled out months previous, all the nameless cogs in their machine weren’t letting it go.
