I guess Hoyo wanted everyone to get free mats with this Dreamjolt event because so far you could easily get max points just using their trial characters. For today’s I just added my RM to their Kafka/BS/Luo and it wasn’t even close.

I couldn't help myself. I ended up getting Sparkle. And, in my first ever double 5 star, I GOT HIMEKO! The best part? Himeko came after Sparkle, so I still have a guarantee for Aventurine. And I'll be able to save enough pulls that I don't feel compelled to buy the Battle Pass. It's a great day.

Yeah these events are very much extended Trial events to sell different characters / teams, but it is still kinda fun to play around with. Although man, my DoT team blows the trial team out of the water.

At 73 rolls on the character banner with a guaranteed banner character, still unsure if I want Sparkle, Archeron, or neither. I feel like I need to roll very conservatively because I only have ~130 rolls saved and I just assume that any new character will cost about 155-160 rolls. I am pretty sure I have only won 2 50/50's since the start of the game and lost the only 75/25 I tried on a LC banner. Here is my skillful character rolling over the last 6 months, love to spend 159 rolls on Himeko:

Got Sparkle in 20 rolls, spent my remaining 70 getting nothing from JY's LC banner, then won the 50/50 with the monthly tickets.  God I have so much stuff to level right now between Pela, Sparkle, Clara, and if Fu Xian is on banner next patch, I'm absolutely gonna go for her.

technically hes in the top half in your screenshot as well, the original post said DPS characters not 5 stars. there are quite a lot of really bad 4 star DPS characters so he would trivially be in the top half for most patches. he actually has been pretty good since they added topaz though, but after his own rotation he struggled for a long time.

Hilariously if I'm going all in on Preservation in harder SimU content, I actually like doing both.  Fu's damage splitting makes quake damage effects happen multiple times, etc.

nah i actually used the wayback machine but didnt click far enough back. i had remembered him doing well previously but it was actually just the toggle for floor 12 yeah. he actually did pretty bad last rotation (which makes sense, it was the destruction/hunt take an extra turn one, so him and kafka kinda sucked.)

Pick one of Xueyi or Quinque, yes. Quinque would probably be stronger, but that depends on eidolons and investment.

Jing Yuan is probably the best all round damage dealer at the moment thanks to Sparkle boosting both his and Lightning Lord's damage. He's strong in both MoC and PF, while other DPS characters tend to excel in one but not the other. I wouldn't be surprised if we see his usage shoot up in the following month.
