There's a storyline in the first Command and Conquer where Nod stages a GDI attack on a village with green screens that cause GDI to temporarily lose funding from the UN (the defunding might have been a ploy by GDI as a response to the staging to catch Nod off guard when they strike back despite ostensibly not having funding though) and boy that storyline sure hits different these days.
