Don’t get me wrong. You can make a lot of money with bitcoin. And people made a lot of money with Tulip bulbs. But it’s all about getting out before it collapses - and then comes back - and then collapses again.

Don’t get me wrong. I understand that it may endure. I just don’t believe an investment that is based on nothing but “faith” and the “greater fool” concept will survive in the end. Maybe history will change. I just don’t personally believe it will.

Time will tell. Especially in the next few years (see tag line)

There are several checks you have to go through before sending money. For instance, you have to approve it on your computer, cell phone and email when taking from an Exchange. If he or she had it vault, and it sounds like they did not then it’s even longer (48 hours moving it out of cold storage (offline) ).

I know people that do cash out a little here and there. It’s same day now transaction. Use to be 3 to 5 business days.

I helped him get his account secure and also to close his crypto account. I also helped him fight with the bank to get his money back. They restored his funds, about $2,300.

Bitcoin was going up but these ETFs will push it over the moon. The first 39 trading days of the ETFs saw 369,000 BTC flow into ETFs.

Money is flowing out of Gold ETFs into BTC ETFs.

I will keep my 5+ BTC and probably try to create a LLC or Corp which is based on 1 BTC Share and any additional Satoshis to create generational wealth.

With the worldwide debasement of sovereign currencies, many people and some institutions have been looking for a way to hedge their bets. One doesn’t have to deal in whole Bitcoins as each can be broken down into satochis (100 million satoshis to one bitcoin).

Bitcoin is in its infancy, but it is the hardest money the world has produced in that their is a fixed number that will be issued, and that number can never be increased. Yes, it’s very volatile, but if institutions and other large entities decide it’s a viable alternative to sovereign currency for certain transactions its value should be substantial and more stable. A plus is the privacy of using it, and the ever increasing places it can be used. Can it disappear? Sure, but what if it doesn’t.

On a scale of 1 to 10 in security of the money type, I put fiat currency at a 2 and cryptocurrency to 0 or 1. Faith can disappear overnight. And the only power faith has in the real world is the ability of those with faith to become violent when their currency is threatened. I consider that to be a paper tiger. Or, another way to look at it, is that if that ever does happen that will be the least of our problems.

If it were faith, bitcoin detractors would be able to come up with coherent criticisms.

But they can’t.

All they can do is spout the same canards that have been repeated endlessly over the last seven or eight years, like “Greater Fool”, “Tulips”, “no inherent value”, and “Ponzi”.

Give me one example of a bitcoin criticism that doesn’t involve cutting and pasting catchphrases from someone else. What’s a criticism that you can come up with on your own?

Bitcoin is a scarce digital commodity. It is not a backed-token like Stablecoins or commodity-backed coins. Any cryptocurrency that is backed by a real world commodity or currency inserts counterparty risk into the network, since you need to rely on someone to store and facilitate the exchange of said commodity.

A token backed by a currency exposes the token to the risk of the issuing bank and the government or central bank behind it.

There is no bitcoin issuer, and one not need any government permission or other means other than the Bitcoin network itself to facilitate trading of BTC.

The security of the Bitcoin network is backed by the laws of mathematics.

If you need a central bank or kleptocratic government to back your assets, then Bitcoin is not for you. Not everyone wants true financial sovereignty.

But there is no evidence of any such thing.

Ok this poo poo pisses me off. I did one of those voluntourism church trips to Haiti in high school. Not proud of that method of travel in hindsight, but getting to actually visit Haiti was a blessing. Everyone was extremely kind and happy to share Haitian culture, food, everything with dumb white kids. Not so much the frothing, terrifying barbarians the right wing wants people to be. If anything Haiti is what the USA should aspire to loving be.

Political problems in Haiti also, well, let me just gesture wildly in the direction of the USA and France for where all that poo poo came from.

Washington will establish a nonpolice hotline to assist people who have been targeted by hate crimes and bias incidents, state lawmakers decided this week, passing a new version of a bill that failed to advance last year.

Senate Bill 5427, sponsored by Sen. Javier Valdez, D-Seattle, among others, directs the state Attorney General’s Office to create a hotline serving at least three Washington counties by 2025 and all counties by 2027.

The bill says the hotline should be staffed during business hours. It says call takers should provide victims with information, refer them to culturally competent, trauma-informed local service providers for additional help and document the calls for annual reports. Identifying information will be kept out of the reports and will be exempt from public disclosure requests.

SB 5427 defines bias incidents as “hostile expressions of animus” that relate to a victim’s actual or perceived race, color, ethnicity, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, or disability. Bias incidents don’t include free-speech expressions for or against the policies of foreign or domestic governments, the bill says.

Proponents say a hotline is needed because many hate crimes currently go unreported to — or undocumented by — police and because police generally don’t record data on bias incidents, which are noncriminal in nature. Especially in marginalized communities, people might be afraid to contact police. Even when police are contacted, they might lack evidence to document a hate crime.

Liberty Nation, of course, sees this differently.

In fact, this new law, which takes effect on Jan. 1, 2025, exempts so much information from public disclosure that there will be no accountability at all to the people of the Evergreen State. After all, faking hate crimes has become common practice for the progressive left.

The problem with waiting for them to come after us is that they're winning without having to. When they finally do come for you, it will be too late to do anything.
