In the repair mission at the manufactorum, I accidentally walked through one of the spawn doors used by enemies. Put me in an unfinished corridor that allowed me to move parallel to the playable area, but I couldn't get back to my pubbie team via the other enemy spawn doors. It did at least let me clear out a bunch of poxwalkers and specialists before they could get outside. Dropping down off that corridor I ended up following a conveyor belt to the end of the navigable map, then walking off the edge of the map to die and respawn. Took way longer than I would have expected, because the level has significant elevation change. After 30 seconds of freefall, I finally had the chance to wave at the final arena before respawning. After that experience, I keep a healthy meter or two away from the spawn doors.

I personally prefer 1x Tough/Health/Wound on Vet. The extra health ablates chip corruption or a stray poxburster from eating a whole wound, and the extra wound also helps with it. I hope at some point Fatshark does away with the random ranges and just makes the primary stat always fixed. I hated fishing for the best curio stats at launch and don't want new players to suffer through it either.

I've been running 2x toughness 1x stamina for a long time to help with revives but I don't even find myself reviving that often, and when I do, the +3 stamina isn't make-or-break.... so considering switching to that +21% health curio.

Is damage resistance (gunner/sniper) only for health, or does it apply to dmg taken to toughness as well? Easy swap for revive speed if health only. 2. Is it cheesy as gently caress running power sword + plasma gun or just regular cheesy? I feel like such a generic dude running PS+PG with voice of command and krak grenades lol. 3. They're not too uncommon in the armory if you keep an eye out and it's not hard at all to find 16% toughness and 20% health curios to tide things over until you build a stash.

Seriously, the thing you struggle with is overwhelming numbers of mildy chunky targets that get spread out, not single or multiple crushers. Every time I see a Plasma vet with kraks I die inside. I run Chain Sword + Plasma, PS is nice but way better with weapon spec side for the extra attack speed and all you need your melee for is managing a horde and mutants. and Rampage single handedly makes Chain Sword good for dealing with hordes so the secondary choice of blessing is up to you. Rev It Up! is low key actually really good, especially combined with the Revive talent for super sonic speeds. Welcome to the glory of Gloryhunter though, it's nice and tanky down here. I will agree with the others though, you can use whatever melee you want with Plasma, though really should be more focused on horde clear. Also just to shill for the Revive talent a bit here: It makes you immune to stuns while you have the buff running toward/reviving someone. It's really good! I wish it wasn't stuck on the right side of the tree so it was easier to splash to! 3. Flak or Maniac are the choice you want so it's mostly personal preference. Gunner damage resistance is fine, sniper is overrated. Sure you might not go down if you're full health/toughness with it, but if you aren't? The sniper resistance didn't do anything for you. Also you should get good enough dodge all sniper shots in the first place, so it's just there in case you horribly gently caress up or are stuck unable to move somehow.

I'm talking like ragers/maulers/shotgunners which can mass enough numbers to be overwhelming threats, also blobs of shooters. Also good for clearing space to revive someone, or knocking even ogryn over to buy you space, or staggering a monster/burping a BoN to free a friend. Kraks kill one ogryn or mauler real good, and sometimes more than one if they stack inside each other. Do okay damage to monsters. Wow! Guess what also does that but has more than two shots box you pick up? Plasma. It's no contest imo. Maybe one your buddies should roll with a crusher though and then they can deal with their own crusher/mauler problems.

Cretin90 posted:You sold me, I'll give it a shot. Do you find the grenade tinkerer passive a noticeable and/or necessary add-on for the frags? I might have a fun use for those two passives otherwise. Yes, I do. The extra radius is extremely noticeable, the bleed does a lot of work vs chaff even if they don't take a lot of damage from the blast. Basically, no fall off on bleed stacks applied, so the larger the radius the better. Tbh I could tweak my build a bit too if I removed it but I sometimes stare at the vet talent tree and man, you really don't need all that much damage with plasma. Just take more utility imo.

IMO smoke grenade is the best choice if you're running plasma. Kraks are completely redundant, as has been mentioned, but frags are just so low-impact. Their damage is negligible, including the bleed effect, even against smaller enemies, and while they do succeed in knocking everything on its rear end, they just do that once and then it's over. Basically just a worse version of the Ogryn's exploding boxes. The only time I've been kinda sorta happy with them was when I completely built around them. It was fun to spam them but it still didn't feel very effective. One weakness of the plasma is maintaining enemy suppression, since you're firing a small number of powerful shots at specific targets, rather than spraying the area down. The smoke grenade fixes that problem by basically just nullifying all gunners in the room for 15s. I just wish it didn't plop you on the opposite side of Survivalist on the talent tree.

Now that smokes are actually usable? I still disagree. Frags absolutely shred chaff in a decent sized aoe, finish off a bunch further out with the bleed, and two frags + bleed stacks will kill a whole rager pack. The other main reason to take them is it puts your right at survivalist, saving some points. Toss a frag at a even decently spread out shooter pack and you'll still kill off or significantly weaken a decent chunk too, and make any gunners one shot with plasma. I do want to experiment more with smokes now but their utility is still a bit lacking, especially if you don't have tinkerer or any nade regen. I would not take them on plasma though.

It was fun to spam them but it still didn't feel very effective. Frags are deceptively excellent. Their damage scales sharply with number of bleed stacks. A single frag does negligible damage, but two can kill a huge swarm of non-elites and three will kill anything short of an ogryn. The actual radius of the frag is quite large, and while at the far edges do virtually no damage or knockback all the targets receive the full stack of bleed. I think my kill record from grenades was about 160 over the course of a run, and the only grenade talent I had taken is the 1-minute regeneration one. edit: Beaten Cretin90 posted:Smokes are an excellent way to suppress both enemies and my teammates.
