I'm gonna say that most Llamasoft games are more interesting to look at and admire than play lol???? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piKFh84lU30 I thought Llamatron 2112 would be the first one chronologically that I could just intuitively play and actually get into... then i started randomly dying in wave 10 lol? Also I guess I'm an idiot for thinking a glowing label pointing to "laser" would be a good thing I guess It was released in 1991.... I know I'm comparing basically a AAA juggernaut release to the visionary independent underdog or whatever but I was playing UN Squadron as a kid that same year, if I had been given Llamatron at the time would I have ever gotten into games lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIqbh-OTPSE&t=118s Edit: lmao I guess jeff pre-emptively called me out... I'm a "Darren" apparently I'm easily impressed by graphics and music, that is true CharlieFoxtrot fucked around with this message at 07:45 on Mar 20, 2024 |

Jossar posted:They're working on it, chief. I played the demo of this, but the blind draw and opponents with special cards in their deck makes it a bit too random and uninvolved for me. Blackjack doesn't have the player choice and input that poker hands provide, it doesn't feel like I'm making substantial decisions.

Reviews for DragDog 2 are beginning to trickle out https://x.com/RPGSite/status/1770466882044207112?s=20 According to RPG Site, the system requirements are so high that there is not a computer that you can build today that will run the first city in the game without some sub-60 frame dips

It's the Crysis method. Keeps your game in the conversation as people continue to discuss whether their new PC can run it at full settings.

What happens nowadays is if the game doesn't play well on someones PC that doesn't meet the requirements, they give it a negative review on Steam and ask that the developer somehow fix that for them.

I got a suped up computer in 2021 with a 3080 and my plan is to run it as long as I can hopefully at least until 2030 and only then buy a new one. Then I will retry all the crazy high end games that came out in the 20s again.

Same except I'm gonna play all those 20s games on my rig with lower settings. I played Cyberpunk 2077 on a 970 machine, had to run the game at 800x600 but it got the job done. If you're not a weirdo who gets all twisted up on the jump between 24fps and 60, your machines go much further.

A story trailer for the Marvel game that Amy Hennig is making at Skydance New Media was dropped at GDC as part of the state of Unreal panel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb2wwEx6DVw The performance capture is so good that I feel like I can say freely that this Cap performance completely misses the mark.
