Don't know what country you're in but I use: https://www.hatchbag.co.uk/ Specific models, waterproof, and customisable. I've had them for my last 3 cars and they're incredibly durable.

My only complaint is that window-mounted suction cups didn't trip the "stop rolling down" sensor for my windows so I had to take the whole rear end door card off to get it out.

I had a wheel repair spot that I've been using for probably 30 years but had never actually personally gone to the office. They did a great job on multiple different sets of wheels I used them for. Then I took a wheel there a couple years ago and without any prompting the owner starts telling me about Comet Pingpong pizza Hillary Clinton bullshit while I was standing there filling out the paperwork. That was the end of using them

Weathertech is crap compared to Maxpider (and others) anyway. After you have both weather tech will just seem like hard thin cheap plastic (because they are). I also preferred the factory more rubbery winter mats that were an option in my F150.

Has anyone tried Tuxmats? I see them on those straightpipes YouTube guys as they advertise on there, they have a Canada storefront too which is handy.

That's too bad, the OG Volvo cars (240's, 740's) had the world's best floormats, your hypothetical idiot friend could theoretically drop and spill a practically full Big Gulp of refreshing soda and absolutely nothing happened once you stopped and took the mat out and dumped it.

A bit of duplication of cars in different niches though, e.g. the MX-5, S2000 and whatever that is behind the RX-8. I guess the MX-5's hard top differentiates it a bit from the S2000? But then it's kind of an inferior version of the RX-8. Which could be argued to be an inferior alternative to the 911. I guess I'm trying to apply logic/rationale to somethine which doesn't demand it, though. From experience, the MX-5 and RX-8 have their own considerable charms for sure. Nice group of cars, however you divide up your driving time.

Nice group of cars, however you divide up your driving time. Rationale: my son and I like cars. The RX-8 and Z4 and Volvo are his. Also big disagree at the MX-5 being inferior to the RX-8. TBF my MX-5 was a MK1, so different comparison. Also the upgrade to my RX-8 was 17 years ago now, and I got rid of that 12 years ago. So not something I'm going to debate at all!

How do you like the Fiesta ST?

dreesemonkey posted:How do you like the Fiesta ST? I love it. Perfect daily driver, while not being boring. I’ve had it about 1.5 years which is a lot for me as a daily driver. Done about 20k miles and it’s been essentially flawless. I had to replace the blend door motors which was $45 and an hours’ labor, and I forgot to do spark plugs at 100k so I did them at 104k. They looked almost new.

The Fiesta ST is a tiny adorable puppy who is ALWAYS begging you to give it more gas. And you can because it doesn't make a lot of power. Mine also had blend door issues, but also this really cool leak in the door somewhere where water would sometimes freeze/build up and then I couldn't close my driver's door. I distinctly remember yoinking a roll of zip ties from the server room on the last day of some old job because I needed to strap the door to my B pillar. Super fun daily, cheap to own, atrocious comfort for long road trips.

I drive 200 miles sometimes for work and I’ve had no comfort issues, even on the base seats. Also never had a leak or any other “build quality” issues.

idk, maybe it'd be OK for a ~3 hour drive, but on the ~6.5 hour trips I'd do 6-8x/yr, I'd arrive so exhausted and miserable.

No, I sold all the bikes last year. What with commuting to Harrisburg a couple days a week and whatnot, I just didn’t really have the time or energy to ride anymore.

Soft top ripped, so new top for the Miata. Not my work, a friend owns a shop and restores cars, so it was a donation from another car. The most stock and boring Miata possible, but still fun.

Aren’t hardtops like $2k+ these days? I remember thinking the $1k they were going for was wild back when I had my NA about 10 years ago.

They are expensive for sure but this was not 2k or even 1k, so obviously the person who did this was extremely nice and I thank him. I like the look a lot more as well as it seals nice now.

I've driven mine exactly once with the roof up (it was raining) so the hard top isn't for me, but that looks pretty sharp. I've been debating whether to stick with the black top or get tan when I do replace the existing top, my paint is somewhat more faded from SoCal sun and it may get wrapped to British racing green if I do go with the tan top.

I passed on a marina green mica hardtop at $750 that needed very light repair to match my 97 m edition and still regret it to this day even though the car is long gone. It was like a slightly darker shade of green BRG with faint gold flake.
