regarding the sphinx has anyone actually tried bringing multiple max affection people to her? In theory you could get one in the phial, one grabbed and ferrystoned, and then your main pawn. She does comment on "just one?" so it'd be real funny if she had a reaction to you bringing 3.

Oh my God I love Meteoron so much. Just calling in a loving howitzer strike. Sorcerer felt a little underpowered before this but the tables have turned.

gently caress it, me and my pawn both gonna roll Sorc just so we can summon skyballs faster.

Why have I only played ranged. Melee is so fun climbing on giant monsters and tearing them up.

Don't forget about Maelstrom. It doesn't have quite the damage output of Meteoron but it works in a lot of situations that the other doesn't.

Edit: Also, you can keep a Meteoron in Spellhold to double-tap things. Always use the standard cast first because releasing the Spellhold will straight-up knock you down from lack of Stamina.

maelstrom's more ideal for certain bosses like drakes, since they have almost no horizontal movement and will stand stock still in the middle of it for the entire duration

You can move Portcrystals right? Where did you all put them?

Trickster has an augment that makes finding them a lot easier. It makes a noise when one is nearby, where it gets louder and more frequent as you get closer. You will hear that noise constantly.

Yes, they're stronger than anything I've found in any store so far but the beeping is real annoying

Gain a portcrystal from sphinx, give it to sphinx as most valuable item, get duplicate portcrystal, making the rest of the tasks so much less annoying.

Seeker token question: in new game+, do tokens you've already picked up reset, and if so does your turn-in total reset or does it continue incrementing? i.e. if I got 90 in run 1, and pick up 30 of the same ones in run 2, do I count as having turned in 120 tokens?

Some locations may be spoilers:

Elftown, Checkpoint town, Bakbattahl, Volcanic camp and the Dwarf blacksmith's house. If I had one more I would've put one at the Dragonforged's cave, but that was a short run from Bakbattahl.

End game spoilers:

At the end it was easier when all the merchants gathered at the same place

Not sure why you spoilered that but I'll go ahead and spoiler the answer: They do not reset, all tokens you collected remain collected and those you do not collect will be there in the NG+ cycle. The turn-in rewards do not reset, you only ever get one of those rewards, barring sphinx item cloning shenanigans. This means that your progress also carries over too of course, so yes, if you get 90 in the first run and 30 in the second, you'll have 120 turned in.

Speaking of tokens I think I am at 237/240 if my memory is correct. I'm pretty sure something terrible happens when I get all of them. Pray for my soul.

Ok so I suck at killing Drakes. I can't do enough damage to them and every time they deal damage to me I lose a huge chunk of Loss meter so I end the fight at like 75% loss while my pawns have barely any.
I'm a Mystic Spearhead so my defense is not great but that seems excessive.

How far into the game are you? There is a specific point in the main story where it wants you to kill a Drake and before that they're meant to be too strong for you to deal with.

Also, an easy way to deal with large monsters in general is to get a Sorcerer pawn.

how long does it take bodies to show up at the morgue? I'm doing the quest to take the elf to the dwarven blacksmith and she vanished after a gryphon fight by the coast right next to bakbattahl so I assume she got brined, but she still isn't at the morgue after days of waiting at a bench. there's still an objective marker on the blacksmith.

Check both morgues just in case, and then maybe try looking back where she was at the start of the quest?

If escort quest npcs go into the drink, they seem to show up at the start location for that escort. At least that's where I found the bad back dwarf when the same happened to me.

Warfarer enjoyers, what's your favorite loadout?

I haven't played with it yet but I'm thinking about daggers (monster climbing, Draw & Quarter or Skull Splitter), archistaff (levitate, stamina recovery, and maybe Augural Flare), and something for ranged damage or maybe mobility in the last skill slot.

I would take a magick bow as my last one because they do great damage from range.

Mr. Baps
Apr 16, 2008

Yo ho?

I was leaning that way, just haven't decided yet because I'm only now trying out Magick Archer and don't know how good its core skills are. If it can put out decent enough ranged damage with just those, I'll almost certainly take Ricochet Hunter for quick and satisfying cave/tunnel clearing.

For later, but you can always do these escorts by grabbing the escortee and using a ferrystone to get closer to the goal.
