my university is getting rid of their "free email for lifetime!" addresses which sucks cause I use it for a lot of things still. turns out late last year google decided just to squeeze public education by charging out the wazoo for what was mostly free storage space suddenly. it's 2024, space is basically free. nice, thank you google

At the same time most software with a self-hosted option has nuked it and forced customers into their per-user priced cloud option.
