I saw an interview with Scott Ritter who basically said that it would be a guaranteed one-way trip for the Israeli jets if America isn't completely committed to the attack with refueling, fighter escorts, electronic warfare and suppression of air defence. Because of the fuel requirements the Israelis would essentially have to take a completely direct approach without any maneuvering directly into the teeth of Iranian air defence.
