IMO it won't get remanded, SCOTUS doesn't want a lower court setting precedent on something like this they may not issue their ruling in time for a pre-election trial however

Why else would they have argued against Jack Smith bypassing the appeals court and bringing the immunity question directly to SCOTUS? The only reason to do that is to delay as long as possible. Oh no, a president might have to face consequences for their actions, that is totally a bad thing and not at all something that works entirely as it should because if you really think something is so essential to the safety of the nation you break the law over it then you should be willing to face jail time to stand by your beliefs, and if the threat of jail time is enough to make you stop then it couldn't be that important in the first place, could it?

I get if you're an independent contractor - but not if you are employed by someone else I just needed one that year. 2012 was a hosed year where I needed someone to sort out my and my girlfriend's taxes because I had bought a house at the tail end of 2011 that barely showed up on that year's taxes, otherwise everything was pretty calm. 2012 saw the first full year of interest on the house, me switch jobs (and the six dependent thing pop up), my girlfriend lost her job and was on unemployment for half the year, her student loans still came due, local and state taxes being different, etc. She was also not on the deed, but was contributing to the mortgage, so I had no idea how she worked into all that. A friend of ours was certified to process tax returns through Liberty Tax and offered to do ours for free because she knew we were struggling. A couple years later her husband officiated our wedding and part of our gift to him was the $300 she saved us that year in addition to a bottle of scotch and a private session with our wedding photographer for the two of them that day. We probably owed them a bit more because after I paid the tax bill that year I was down to a couple hundred dollars and my now-wife's accounts were nearly tapped, her Student Loan returns kept her afloat until she found gainful employment. Without the help I don't know if we would have been able to navigate the tax forms through an online service AND pay the monthly fees on the place for the near year of hosed financials. Once we got on our feet we made sure everyone who helped us got theirs.
