Here's mine, after much trial and error:  I try to cluster everything close to the center of the screen so that it's within my cone of immediate vision. Most of my longer cooldown actions are on the upper bars so that I can catch the CD at a glance. I have both my personal buffs/debuffs (upper row) and my target's buffs/debuffs (lower row) clustered together so that I'm not having to split my focus between the two. The stuff on the left is a bunch of custom macro menus that I set up for easy access of things like jobs, consumables, quick chat functions (re: begging someone for Mana Shift), and the like. All in all, it keeps all of the vital UI information I need in reach without feeling cramped, nor does it require me to strain my neck trying to keep track of things happening on opposite ends of the screen.

Finally back into FF, loving playing as an Arcanist so far. I was a 50 Dragoon previously. Is one of the Excalibur FC's more welcoming of non-goons than others? My wife and a work friend wants to join, but I was just wondering if we needed to start our own FC instead

Just had a super whiny healer complaining that I didn't DPS Sastasha the way they wanted. We cleared it in record time because I know what I'm doing, and they were a Scholar so didn't even have to put any work in, and they were still just so mad.

After watching that trailer I'm really impressed that they managed to make FF7 look like a lovely shooter game. Can't wait for combat to take even longer with all of these animations.

I had a dps get pissed at me for doing "too much dps" as tank in Totorak because I wasn't giving the dps a chance to "do their job" I'm usually pretty sensitive to criticism and get overly nervous when conflicts happened but after that incident I started caring significantly less

Unfortunately then you still have to tank dungeons with PUG DPSs, which is why I usually end up eating the queue time and queuing as DPS myself.

I had someone snap at me in Eureka for 'leeching exp' when I was max level and was only not attacking for a few seconds because the tank literally could not keep aggro off me unless I gave them time because I had max armor/weapon and they didn't and I didn't feel like taking a NM fist to the squishy caster face.

If you're geared and doing your proper DPS you're going to out-aggro the average DPS, it's only when you get competent people it's a risk.

Just reorganized my HUD a bit, here's what I settled on: I made my status effects bigger and more aligned after I took the shot, and I should probably make the chatbox smaller. The vertical bar on the left is next to the party list for easy clicking of party buttons like Goad or Warden's Paean, and the 4x3 box by my other three bars isn't class-specific for stuff I'm clicking all the time. It still needs some work but I'm pretty happy with it. e: Binding Middle Mouse to Sprint has also helped me immensely.

I haven't played in years and I'm feeling a little itch to get back in. Is there a particular guild that's receptive to filthy casuals, and to some extent chatty? I also just have a vanilla account. Is there a cheap, or ideal way of getting caught up on expacs?

TPT and DGKK respect story spoilers the most, but every goon guild on Excal is helpful and generally chatty. There's a limited time promotion to get Heavensward for free. Provided you don't buy a character boost, that should tide you over until Shadowbringers in like a month and a half. Details are in the game launcher.

All 3 NA guilds in the op are active, friendly, and chatty. As for expacs, each one comes with all the preceeding expansions. So if you get shadowbringers, it'll come with SB and HW with the caveat you won't get them till shadowbringers releases at the end of the month. If storm blood is still on sale though, that'll come with heavensward.

Alright, so if I hold off a bit and hop back in with the Shadowbringers expac, once it goes live it'll contain Heavensward & Stormblood. Does the game have a ridiculously solid PvE class choice, akin to WoW's DK's or hunters? Thanks for putting up with the sad sack questions!
