While the hurricane is/will be/may be a tragedy, you are on a political message board where people talk about politics. Why not discuss it? Do you honestly believe this storm will not be politicized by both candidates? National tragedies are always politicized whether it's proper or not. Shall we bury our heads in the sand and pretend neither candidate will try to politicize this? If you want to talk about the tragedy of the storm go to GBS.

The federal government already prepared to provide immediate relief? A massive campaign of warnings and evacuations preceding the storm? A competent president who has also been pushing for infrastructure funding and severe weather preparation for nearly a decade? Exactly like Katrina!

Night10194 posted:Much of America still thinks Reagan wasn't the devil. He was, but he's well remembered. Propaganda really does work. Tim Kaine comparing Hillary's immigration platform to Reagan's hurt my soul. I totally get that most (white) Americans think Reagan was some kind of Jesus figure, so statements like that are an easy way to score political points, but it still contributes to the lionization of a thoroughly detestable man. I don't fault him for it but it is depressing.

The trail of human wreckage and hilariously horrible anecdotes that marks Trump's passage puts the Tri State Tornado to shame. I can't wait for the end of October for the Clinton camp to just dump the remaining oppo research and watch him squirm. Having said that, there has to be some kind of medal for the poor interns who had to watch every piece of b-roll and local news Trump's ever been on. No amount of whiskey sours can soothe that pain.
