If I was playing this league was thinking of going a doomfletch inquisitor or whatever can clear the fastest, what builds are the best at crazy fast clear speed lately?

The first day or two we will all look like we live under a bridge and only wear what we can't first eat. From my experience though, scion chaos spark is kinda hardmode, especially as your first character in a new league. If you wanted to go spark i would recommend Inquisitor Crit Spark. I think that build is easier to get going at the start of a league, and has a higher potential going into the end game. For other decent league starter builds, I still think flameblast totems(pizza sticks) are solid. Here here and here Other decent new league builds are Warchief Totems, RT Cyclone, Essence Drain, Explosive Arrow, or the timeless Neversink Tornado Shot.

On another note, how decent is Vaal Spark as a starter? On reddit there plenty of people saying they were making one to farm currency early and all you really needed was a tabula.

Previously I didn't mind staying in Dried Lake till around 75-77, but with Atlas I think it's better to start mapping as soon as you can.

Thinking blade flurry assassin, facebreaker totems, or SRS for my first char. I didn't enjoy playing BV pathfinder as the super meta build though since everything was crazy expensive, I'm worried blade flurry would be the same.

I go straight into maps as soon as I get my last quest passive in Merciless, but I play Softcore and hate farming the same area. Still can't decide on a first build plan. I want to use Blade Flurry because it's sick nasty, but might do Crit Spark or Storm Call Inquisitor for the sake of an easier league start. Farm currency for Mjolner for 1 year for 55 ex back in the day so i could finally feel strong and rewarded.. Oh wait.. nerf'd and worth 2 ex now.. Get over it.. Go for Cospri, spend months optimizing, trading for currency, fire conversion gear, Izaro turmoils to make it strong.. Feel rewarded.. Oh wait.. nerf'd and for loving what? I can cast cold spells with spell echo around 9 or 10 times a second and have them in a 6l!.. so why the gently caress did you just cripple a huge investment 3l that hits up to ten times per second down to 4? It was already balanced.. now its poo poo.. you kill every fun build out there that people invest their time and effort into! Check it out.. Cospri's malice is 3 months old.. was heavily tested and balanced to begin with.. and you just hosed the entire build..again.. for NONSENSE? And you wonder why you're losing players like crazy? to grab a couple new ones every new league for a few weeks while the tried and true have had enough of the bullshit. Oh boohoo poor me right? I wish we could get a concrete demonstration of the changes to Ancestral Warchief. That was the build I was leaning towards, but Chris was in the main reddit patch thread saying that this was a fix to it for being bugged as poo poo and targetting way too far away. Seems like it could be a really significant nerf, but there's no way to know! ED / contagion looks pretty good but is super slow to get started, from what I understand. Also, Essence of Delirium will probably be a lot more rare and expensive compared to actual Essence League so that's got me worried. Pizza Sticks sounds good but is very reliant on cast speed, which will be harder to come by on daggers because of less essences. It also looks juuuust on the border of being slower than what I'd prefer to play. Flicker Strike builds always seem cool, and with the new Raider frenzy charge generation it's looking even better. I'm afraid it'd give me a headache to play, though, so I've always steered clear. I'd also like to play something that can do Uber Lab early because there's a lot of value to be had from that. Not sure what that would be, though. Last season my build petered out in high maps, so I might just say gently caress it and join the Blade Flurry meta. I really want to kill the Shaper and all the Guardians so I might just accept the higher prices on gear and give it a shot with something that is pretty certain to be powerful. I feel like I kind of missed out by not getting on the BV Pathfinder train at the start of last league - I knew it was going to be strong but didn't play it intentionally to not want to be too 'meta'.

Has anyone else been getting client crashes since switching to dx11? I get them all the bloody time now, even when using the normal client.exe. So now I'm torn between my initial Gladiator idea and a Raider idea. Both would use Blade Flurry to deal with trash and a single target for bosses (Frenzy for Gladiator, Viper Strike Raider). Both would use Blood Rage + Poacher's Mark + Ascendancy to stay at max Frenzy charges. Both are pure physical damage sword-and-board (well, maybe claw instead of sword). The differences would be Gladiator maxes out block and mainly deals bleeding damage (thinking Bringer of Rain for this guy to get a 7L and passive Endurance charge generation), while Raider would use a Snakebite for free Poison. I feel as though the Raider might be a bit squishy but has a higher clear speed ceiling. Halp?

Yeah I'm torn between like, berserker life flurry, raider life flurry, assassin ci flurry or whatever witch ci flurry. Also still can't decide if I'm starting old man totem off the bat just for ease of gearing, sleepwalk through uber lab etc. until I can afford to gear out a good flurry set up, or just start there and try to farm up currency and buy what I need early before the rest of the server is competing for it.

Think I've settled on a dual foil ele spectral throw inquisitor to start out with on hardcore. It should be nearly gear independent early on by relying on gems/auras for ele base damage, but it's also got a pretty high ceiling for investment later on for good crit/ele swords and jewelry. I really like the idea of hitting 12% regen and 2% life leech for general survivability, but ~95% crit/400% crit mult may force me to take vaal pact. I guess at that point I'd drop some of the regen nodes and try to pick up some evasion and endurance charges.
