Also RAID is getting stealth lure throwable coins and a silenced pistol, the Welrod. These will make stealth easier, but they're unambiguously good changes.

For anyone who still has problems with Henry's Rock, this is just the tonic. Makes the map actually fun and balanced rather than the bullet hell mess that it is in vanilla.

The decompile's been delayed, so no one's entirely sure, but it...seems to be a net positive?

I'm not optimistic, given that the main way to actually get things done in One Down (death sentence whatever, who plays one down outside of that) is to be acutely aware of when an assault fade has started and rush objectives while leaving the last few cops alone, because as soon as the assault properly breaks cops will immediately start spawning again. I'm guessing this change is going to severely reduce that window of objectives time, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Assault fades are about 10 seconds long on DS, and the cops stick around to shoot you, which is ridiculous. This is why I don't understand what they mean. There haven't been any proper fades in the game for a long time and it'll be good balancing to add them back.

A sound plan except that in big open maps they can hit you with pinpoint accuracy from long distances with 225 damage. Again, Overkill should stop loving around and give us back proper assault fades where enemies actually leave the map and players have enough time to complete objectives. Because that's how the game was designed to be.

I don't know about that. Especially if there are no plans to reduce the spawncap or change any of the other assault mechanics like starting fades with 50 cops left on the map.

I realize this isn't a very helpful way to ask this question, but: I reinstalled yesterday and am getting occasional, brief, huge slowdowns. I forget what triggered it first, but this last time, I entered a screen watching a camera feed, and when I left, the game ran at like 8 fps for about a minute, then just suddenly cleared up and ran fine. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

(I'm sure this is already obvious but my pc can run payday at whatever conceivable frame rate with no problems most of the time; this is a new thing I've never had happen before.)

That's a new one to me, sorry. Some things to check:

1. Got any mods running? There are a lot of potential sources there.
2. check that antivirus isn't triggering off of or blocking it.

Instead, install a mod that actually improves things. Death Vox is live, fully functional, extremely stable, and rapidly building in popularity!

This is a good and fun mod and I've yet to try out any actual Crackdown heists! I've ran through Watch Dogs and Nightclub with a friend so far and I'm loving it. Good job.

I’m currently running the Restoration Mod using IPHLPAPI.dll, but the Crackdown installer apparently added WSOCK32.dll and now there’s a conflict message and the game crashes on startup, even when I remove IPHLPAPI.dll. Advice?

I agree, double clicking on stuff on websites is a bit counter-intuitive. But other then that, it's well made.

I agree, double clicking on stuff on websites is a bit counter-intuitive. But other then that, it's well made.

the double click poo poo was also on overkill's website where you 'hacked' into the fbi chief's computer

it was really questionable then too

it's been so long since I've used FBI files that I didn't remember that, but regardless of who did it: that's not questionable, that's outright wrong

in this instance i'd suggest a slightly less faithful rendition of Overkill's mistakes :v:
