I still can't decide if I'd rather have a 1.0 Ecoboost or a Honda L15 in my Opel. The 1.0 might be the only thing that makes the engine bay look roomy, but L15s are cheap as gently caress.

As someone who has looked into 1.0 ecoboost swaps, prices on used engines went from $900 to over $4500 as they started failing in cars.

The front timing cover also integrates an engine mount and is an extremely intricate casting which would be hard to replace

Kind of awkward trying to use that in a RWD application, though.

edit: I have no idea what RWD application it would be useful in, just saying.

My dream was a early ford Falcon.

How tall is the 1.0 Ecoboost? I've been wondering if it's a swap option for the Suzuki Cappuccino for awhile. It's been getting more difficult to get some parts for them lately.

They are ridiculously tiny engines. but the 1.5 i3 is far more plentiful and seemingly more reliable.

With something that uncommon it's really hard to guess. It could fail to hit the reserve, it could go for $15k.

Not even close, it went for $11,400.

Anyone with old 90s GM background recognize the illuminated idiot light?

In Calgary. It will be interesting to see what happens. nostalgia aside it would be reasonably decent transport.

Also, the wheels are like 280zx turbo wheels, only 3 spoke instead of 4.

I'd have to assume it's due for an engine rebuild even if those were a lot of easy miles.

Depending on the climate, it's probably got a poo poo ton of idle hours, too.

The ford mod motors get a bad rap for their common glaring failures, but i can't think of a passenger vehicle engine out there that has moved more people/stuff more distance.

I don't think there's an engine out there that more people have been personally been transported by, at least in North America.

a 400k mile ford would still give me pause. Even if the engine and trans are solid, all the switch gear and stuff, ugh.

Probably closer to 550.

the whole engine is 750 and a loaded head is probably only 150

Those big Lincoln coupes are so wonderfully ostentatious. Front & rear overhang should be celebrated.

Is it easy to put a Coyote 5.0 in those? Or at least a fuel injected OHV 5.0 HO from a Mustang?

It's a panther platform car, i would imagine a coyote wouldn't be that hard to wedge in. The 302 looks a lot smaller in that than it does a foxbody and people have managed coyotes in those. The godzilla is taller and narrower than the Coyoteand might fight easier.

Those Mark Vis had a 114.4" wheelbase and 216" overall length meaning at 101.6" there's almost as much car outside the wheelbase as there is inside, although I'm sure a continental kit could even it right up.

Because of the relatively short wheelbase, they're quire manoeuvrable in tight spaces. Just have to watch for approach/departure angles some times.

With everything else starting to look the same this thing looking very different might actually make it good.

e: Most of the ones available are super low mileage. like 40k - 80k kms.

Being a lowballer is one thing, but so many cross the line into acting as if they are owed whatever they want and their low ball price and you're the rear end in a top hat for refusing.

You could list a $100 bill for $95 and get people pissed off at you because you won't give it to them for $10.

I don't even sell poo poo anymore. I've got a lot of stuff to get rid of that i'm just going to dump on pallets and drop at an auction somewhere

I just *know* someone will want that thing for $1500. It's only an SR5, but nah, bro. I've seen worse condition ones listed for way more. Then again, maybe I'll find someone who actually knows what it's worth and is willing to pay something close to that.

On the plus side your procrastination probably doubled the price.
