They are unchanging the change so it's not a design change. That rep must not have the official statement yet...or they're a sales person and are basically incapable of telling the truth.

Video with the official statement mentioned above:

Ratcheting + pin exists. I like mine: https://torin-jack.com/bigred-6ton-jack-stands/

e: 6 ton stands are way overkill for my little clown car but I want a very large safety factor on Chinese made stands.

e2: Harbor freight even has ratcheting stands with pins

Looking to buy a new set of ratchet handles, I already have some cheap ones to live with my car tool kit but I kinda want to get something nicer for the garage tools. This set seems good (and really cheap), and the 120-tooth mechanism sounds like it'd be really nice to have. I know Gearwrench is generally pretty great, does anyone have any experience with these before I pull the trigger?

I have a couple of them and they're nice. The only potential downside is they might have a weaker mechanism since there are two pawls (only one engaged at a time) and presumably they're smaller than normal in order to fit where there is normally only one. I haven't run into any issues or heard of others having problems so it's probably fine.

It works on desktop without an account. Probably worth a shot before stabbing the filter with a screwdriver if there's sufficient access.

:same: a Mitutoyo dealer will probably be about the same price and only take a few more days to arrive.

I'm not sure why that particular one is so expensive, but they have much cheaper versions.

TTC did a comparison of some

I'm sure not as precise and accurate as a Flir but much cheaper

Anyone have suggestions on decent flexible multimeter leads? The PVC ones that came with my cheap Fluke are stiff and lovely to use. Tempted to just roll the dice on some random silicon leads off Amazon.

I got a cheap craftsman branded set (CMMT14115 I think) and while they do, eventually, work I've had to resist the urge to throw them in the trash each time I've used them. Mostly because I think I might miss the can and damage my freshly painted wall.

I have a Dremel one and only the Dremel brand parts work on it. The part in the center is just small enough other brands will fall off.

I had the opposite problem where I bought a Dremel blade for my Porter-Cable not realizing there was anything different about it. Fortunately, since the problem was just the center section being too small, I was able to just make it bigger until it fit.

It looks like now the Dremel blades are all universal fit so they must have realized not being able to sell their blades to people with every other brand was a dumb move.

The only one of those drain pan storage container combos I've used seemed have been specifically designed to make as big of a mess as possible. Now I just use a normal pan and drain it into a separate container which mostly works.

The inventory numbers on the site usually differ a bit from what's on the shelf. I don't think the count is updated in real time (might be a once a day batch job) so something may have been in stock when the store opened and sold out before the picker went to pick it. There's also going to be some amount of misplacement (items put back in the wrong bin, customers ditching an item in some random spot in the store, etc.) and theft skewing the numbers.

If it shows less than 10 of something in stock I get suspicious about the store having any at all.

Extremely happy with my Eley reel as are my parents who have had theirs for 7 years.

Mixed feelings about my Flexzilla water hose. The extreme flexibility is both a pro and a con. It doesn't turn into a tangled mess once it's off the reel and it winds back onto the reel very easy, but it has no kink resistance at all. It's a bit less annoying if it's full of water. It works well enough for my needs that I'm not going to bother replacing it. I've got the less chonky strain relief and I think it's fine. Maybe just get the chonk for the last hose in the line if you're worried about it?

e: the short bit of hose that came with the Eley reel seems pretty nice but isn't long enough to really evaluate. I really like the Eley quick fittings, ball valve, and nozzles. They work well and feel like they will last forever.

Probably a D7 as I think that's the biggest dozer he has. A D7 is a medium* sized dozer and an older one like his is probably about 1/5th the mass of a D11 which is Cat's biggest dozer.

*Medium by dozer standards but it's still a big machine

Uni-T 210e and 210d are solid choices for small cheap meters. AC/DC clamp meter with most basic multimeter functions for $50 from a reputable, at least by Chinese standards, company.
