It's kind of old, but I still really like Tapemasters Inc - Mash up gang. Though it isn't big multi song mashups, and more of just two songs mixed together. But the selections all seem perfect, for example

http://www.imeem.com/groundzerorecords/music/80BRxmcX/eminem_vs_robert_miles_children_are_gone/

seems like it could have been original, and not a mashup.

I've been listing to a lot of mashup stuff recently. I really like Girl Talk and Super Mash Bros. E-603 hurts my ears. His last cd just doesn't sound very good to me. To much random stuff, and doesn't seem to fit all that well. Anyway...

I just stumbled across an artist called easter egg. He just came out with a cd called Jackin' For Beats. I'm liking it a lot.

240 samples tweaked and layered to create a 70 minute megamix.

Link is from his myspace. If you haven't heard it yet, check it out. I think you will all enjoy it.

Oh man now I am kind of bummed I never picked up a dj hero set when they were going for super cheap on that best buy auction site. Might still pick it up for this though.

poo poo situation, I hope Ludachrist gets some type of loyalties out of this. I don't even know who diplo is. How did they choose to credit Diplo over ludachrist anyway?

Is there a reason to wait for dj hero 2 controller to come out, or will I be fine with the first controller?

Ah well, new cd coming out, new milkman coming out. Can't fuckin wait.

Diplo is actually one half of Major Lazer, so he actually does have copyright to do whatever he wants with Pod De Floor, it's just a little unfair, that's all.

I never heard the original or what ludachrist sampled from. Is it pretty much that Diplo made a song, and ludachrist remixed/mashed it up with something else. They used that remix/mashup and credited diplo?

Edit:oh I get it. dj hero 2 allows you to mash up pound the floor with Axel F. Pretty much what ludachrist did, but not crediting them with the idea. Is this right?

Nobody does it because it's hard to find instrumentals or Acappella's of metal music. Rap is way easier Rio do and has a much bigger audience.

Nice, time to smoke up, play cod, and listen to this. Now we just need the master Milkman to drop something besides originals and we will have a great month.

Also, whoever posted that gently caress computer cd. Thank you, I really enjoyed it. Maybe it's because I was super high, but listening to a mashup album that has a relaxed feel to it like that instead of a super rager party feel to it was nice.

Any other mellow mashups like that at all?

Milkman ATTENTION: The final LP in the Milkman Mashup Trilogy: Algorithms is in it's final stages of production and is due for an early 2011 release. IN THE MEANTIME our homeboy Girl Talk just released his latest mashup album and it's absolute FIRE! Check it out at https://www.myspace.com/girltalk! Get it. Listen to it. Love it.

Can't wait for the new album, but I'm sad he isn't looking to continue. Though I guess that you can only do so much with mashups, and that showed with the latest girl talk.

I know that it is nice and all to have a big epic ending, but what I would like to see one of these guys do is end the cd exactly how it starts. This way I can just loop it at parties and people will not know what the gently caress. I'd like to see how many rotations it could do.

I don't really like this Milkman guy. Album seems to be really same-y, using a lot of samples just to use samples, without really letting any stand out. I'm only halfway through Algorithms, though, so it has a chance of winning me over.

e: whoever mentioned that he relies on a lot of the same samples as Girl Talk is extremely right.

e2: haha, and a completely failed attempt at 'rap song over kitschy background' with the Torn sample in Right Now.

This is why I liked that Kids and Explosions cd so much. It actually shows you can do something completely different and don't need to follow the same poo poo formula that it seems the rest of them are falling into doing now.

So I never tried to make a mashup before, and I really don't have much musical training, but for some reason I was bored today and wanted to give it a try. I must say it is much harder then I ever thought it would be, but is a really fun thing to at least attempt to do. After way to long I came together with this http://soundcloud.com/user5353068/wish-i-knew-take-2/s-7jyqJ

Now to just figure out a way to combine the three sections together.

Put some Death Grips in it. They offer the stems for all their songs, so it will be easy to use. Actually mashing it though would be another story.

I'd say Mash-up Gang by dj chachi. back in 06 Though it's more instrumental from one band mixed with vocals from another, but still a good album.

the post above me is a perfect example of it, its like the musical version of 1+1=2 it is so basic there is nothing worthwhile there at all.
