My new S60R after ~200 miles of driving around on Saturday. It was a good day.

I really do need to take the drive up Mt Washington one of these days. I haven't done it since I was a kid.

Edit: Speaking of which, here's a dude with a deathwish riding it on a dirtbike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1DjEO-tnZo

Well my S60R is in winter mode now, got a set of new X-Ice 3's and a 4 wheel alignment (really needed it). It really does make a world of difference having proper winter tires instead of worn UHP all seasons. The past few storms I only lost grip when I intended to. Found a good local parking lot for some donuts too. I wasn't sure what the effect of winter tires would be on my ability to do donuts, thankfully it just made them more exciting, since I have to give it a lot more gas to properly break all 4 wheels loose. The only problem is I kick up so much snow I feel like I need wipers on my side windows. :getin:

When I had a 96 subaru legacy I came out the grocery store, opened the door to what I thought was my car and thought "wait, I don't have an air freshener hanging from my mirror". Turns out, my car was on the other side of a van that had pulled in since I parked, the car I had opened happened to be an identical white 96 legacy with burgundy interior, who, like me, couldn't be bothered to lock his doors.

That's a weird coincidence. Which drivetrain?

Mine's a 3.6 AWD. I wanted a 3.6 RWD premium for the magnetic ride control and LSD but the closest one was 450 miles away and it was kind of an urgent problem as my S60R had started quietly telling knock-knock jokes. Fortunately it only did so when cold or reved above 5k so the dealer didn't notice.

In Canada dealers pretty much stock AWD Cadillac models only, with a rare base model RWD thrown in.

No Mag-ride ats's unless you order it from the factory. :smith:

I gotta say the AWD model may not be the best version, but it's still damned good. I just need to get some Pilot Supersports on this thing. The all seasons it came with are the weakest link.

that's reasonable compared to the stroller

:stonk: I suddenly understand why you put up with your commute. I didn't think it was possible to buy a house* for that cheap outside of Detroit.

It's both exciting and terrifying to drive, thanks to still being completely unfamiliar with it. The suspension actually feels softer than the SLK55 I had, which is nice since the roads are pretty garbage around here. I probably shouldn't drive it too much since I don't have the plates yet and it doesn't even have a temp one.

I think I'd be scared to have a car that nice. Congratulations.

I kept mine for 5 years, in which time I put about $14k into it including a nightmare process of multiple failed (auto) trans rebuilds. I got rid of it when the engine started telling knock knock jokes at 140k. That was with a shop doing all the work so if you DIY it will be cheaper. By most accounts I got a borderline lemon though so I doubt yours will be that bad.

The good: the most comfortable seats of any car I've owned, beautiful inside and out. Felt quicker than the numbers suggest. Sounded great.

The bad: cost. handling was good but not great.

Vsport fam :hfive: It's such a massively fun car, emphasis on massive. I've had mine for just about a year and I'm still floored by how good it feels in hard cornering. It's more fun to throw around than my 500 Abarth was.

Yeah it's pretty silly how well it handles for such a large car. I may have to try taking it to the track at some point, though I've read it has serious brake fade issues. Hardly surprising for a 4,000 lb car. I think it's a perfect daily driver. Comfortable, roomy and able to scare the poo poo out of your passengers on an onramp.

If you can find one near you to test drive check it out. I had originally planned to get an ATS-V instead but they're about 6-8k more for similar year/mileage and after driving the V-sport it was good enough that I changed my mind. I wanted a 2017+ specifically because that's when they added android auto. Downside is the 2017+ cars are exceedingly rare with less than 700 produced. There were only about 4,400 V-sports made in total.

When I got my car it had a bunch of scratches and swirls from the previous owner's use of brush carwashes. I just got a full paint correction and ceramic done and it made a world of difference.
