I’m thinking about a CPO CX-5 and I have a few questions:

1. I love Soul Red, but I’m not willing to deal with the fragility of the paint. Are there any other problem colors?

2. Are there any first-year-of-refresh issues with 2017s?

3. How annoying are things like Lane Assist? I had a rental Sonata that had a lot of those features and they’d make the car swerve on freeway on-ramps and whatnot. Are they easy to disable if I don’t like them?

4. Are there any known issues I should look out for when I’m looking at the car?

E: either Touring with the Preferred Package or Grand Touring, if that’s relevant. There’s also a Grand Select I would consider if the safety stuff is annoying.

1. I've had soul red through 2 colorado winters and its no more fragile than any other paint I've had on any other car. It's beautiful and I'd buy it in that color again in a heartbeat.
2. This i dont know.
3. Mazda's lane assist isn't aggressive at all. If its on, the wheel shakes a little. It doesn't bounce all over the place or correct you on its own. I've driven systems that do that, and the mazda isn't one of them.
4. Also don't know this one.

I ended up with a dark blue 18 GT. I haven’t minded the lane assist, and the ACC is really nice. I bought an OEM cargo cover and tray, and a Covercraft sun visor. I’d love to code out the distraction warning at startup, I’m debating installing CarPlay, and I’ve got a hitch and tints to get done. I want to lower it, but I can’t justify the cost. I’m pretty okay with it as a family hauler so far.

I’m regretting my parchment seats a little. I’m worried they’re going to look beat to hell after a few years.

turbo is good. tons of power, feels like a high end vehicle.

N/A is a fine family-hauling appliance. I’ve never felt like the thing was underpowered for what I need it to do.

I've got a basic-rear end FWD 2018 CX-5. I like to do some car camping. One of my OEM tires has a slow leak in it, which I think I picked up on a gravel road, and America's Tire has a Labor Day sale, so I'm thinking of replacing them with something that might handle car camping a little better.

So far the reviews online suggest:

1) Michelin Premier LTX for the best on-road performance
2) Michelin Defender LTX for a little worse performance but much better tread life
???
4) KO2s?

I'm wondering what I could put on this thing that would be slightly better for fire roads and whatnot. Or should I just put Defender LTXs on it?

It really is worth it to find an independent shop you trust. In my case, I go to the local Miata specialist, and he does a good job on my CX-5 and never tries to hit me with fake bullshit. I’ve even taken my kids by a time or two to check out the race cars he works on.
