Something looks very off about the clouds.

The sky was overexposed, so I lowered the exposure of the whole image until there was some detail in the clouds, then used the tone curve to bring the now-dark landscape back up.

Do you think the clouds look off because there's less detail in them than there should be? Any advice on recovering an overexposed sky from a single image?
It just feels like the clouds are washed out. What you can try is to create a duplicate image, expose one for the sky and one for the landscape then blend them together with layers and masks.

That's really neat how the cloud and tree fit together. I would have really liked to see you get lower so that the handing branch doesn't overlap the cloud. Or hedge clippers.
Haha yeah I didn't really notice that overhanging branch at the time.

I'm not trying to argue that there's nothing to photograph in Illinois. But I can't convey what I am trying to say without sounding like a shitheel, so I'll drop it.

Other than photographing corn is loving boring. I stand firm on that topic.

At least you'll have corn to shoot, I don't even have land to shoot, just buildings.

Thanks! Most people are quite surprised when they find out it's taken on an iPhone 5, then they're even more surprised when I tell them it's taken from inside a bullet train moving at full speed.

Have you printed it? I'm curious to see what it could do there.

Not yet actually. It should hold up well as a 4x6 print but I think at 8x12 there'll be splotches and graininess in the fog area. Having seen my friend print his iPhone photos to 10x15, I think I should be able to do so if I clean up the fog area.
