music theory is really weird, a lot of songs are just composed by loving Around Until It Sounds Good or small clips that pop into an artists head. dissecting why it sounds good and the patterns/key changes that make a song catchy is cool and all but its spergy as all hell and leads to students directly applying the knowledge to try to make music and while it never sounds bad, it just sounds flat and lifeless.

(i studied it a bunch in high school)

yeah

like analysing the stock market in retrospect you can draw all sorts of formulas etc but you cant predioct. terrible analogy but music theory is cool

in pigs on a wing part 1 the chords go c-csus4-c g-gsus4-g but in part 2 it goes c-f-c g-gsus4-g but then you look at it and csus4 is very simular to f so its very cool i likey

homeopathic medicines aren't just tap water passed off as homeopathic medicines though, they're usually made as they should be

the end result is still a joke but generally it's not a "scam", as in, the people selling it and making it believe in it, and spend money making it properly

there is no way most homeopathic remedies are made "properly" as it is scientifically impossible to tell a proper prep from an improper one

while I'm sure it exists, I doubt many products sold as homeopathetic are just totally bogus scams. You can't tell from the end result but everyone I've met in the homeopathic industry believes it works and because of the process involved. I have every reason to believe they try to make it properly

no natural and naturopathic meds are a different thing. not inherently bankrupt, although the fda or whomever has totally ruined everything good they've gotten by making it illegal and turning them into regulated pharmacueticals

legit wanna know what a natropath thinks about opium and magic mushrooms. i mean those are probably the two most worthwhile medicines on the entire planet and one is hyper illegal while the other regulated to hell. certainly kills their buzz when you take all the good things away from them

yeah acupuncture works because you believe it works. so once you understand HOW it works, then it doesn't work for you anymore! haha owned

"the placebo effect" is great and under utilised and it can be as simple as me telling a patient that their low dose of gabapenton "is effective in many people" and the opposite is true too you can reduce efficacy by believing it won't work. the knowledge of this should be used throughout medicine

its an very effective painkiller. its 100% natural
im curious as to whether or not naturpaths would consider it "good but cant use it" or "woah thats drugs"
