Made a few more videos. I have to say, I very much like the editor for how intuitive it is. I pretty much knew what to expect coming in, and it isn't very hard to adjust for certain difficulties like camera placement when the PC is moving out of range.

Does anyone know why when I spawn pedestrians with the trainer, they appear to have scoliosis? They always have their backs at a 90 degree angle, face pointed at the sky.

It's pretty funny. I made a video of it.

TLAD as an expansion to the base IV game cannot be played multiplayer with the TLAD included in EoLC, if I recall correctly.

My experience is with the Xbox version.

If you have the PC version, you can use Simple Trainer to spawn NPCs set to a variety of moods.

Rockstar did seem to move away from the whole "remorseful/conflicted main character" storyline with Episodes from Liberty City. Johnny isn't opposed to killing people or dealing drugs. He's just mad that his boss won't stop doing stupid things and ruining the business. Same deal with Luis more or less. He doesn't seem to remorseful about the people he has to kill, just that he keeps getting put in dangerous situations.

TLaD succeeded because it was more about the inertia draining from Johnny's life and the insane things that were happening around him, not a morally conflicted self-avowed serial killer trying to turn his life around. TBoGT was essentially an action movie, and I still liked the characterization of Luis better than in 4.

They were all pretty good though.

I was just working on my car with my dad, and for some reason the gas tank cover caught my eye, and I remembered that if you shot those in San Andreas, they'd explode after one direct hit :v:

Was that the case in GTAIV too? I don't remember now. That should be standard in all Grand Theft Auto games.

You couldn't blow up the car in GTA IV with a single shot to the gas cap. However, shooting up the general area of the gas tank will result in fire coming out of the back tire wells and an eventual explosion.

Finlay hosed around with the video editor in GTAIV PC. Took clips of some of my favorite things to do in game and added fancy rear end camera work. The editor is pretty drat impressive despite some annoying limitations. Hope it gets a revamp in V.

It really is wonderful. With SimpleTrainer you can turn gamespeed down, which additional slow-mo will magnify.

Wish a thread for making videos was still around. I don't know if the one in YCS was lost when it the forum was axed or what.

Is there a handling.cfg in GTAIV like there is in SA? Doing 0-100mph in 3 seconds but the car only has a top speed of 120 mph was sooo unrealistic, so you just edit that to make the cars accelerate, brake, corner, have more realistic aerodynamics, suspension and engine inertia etc.

Does GTAIV have something like that? Is it worth buying for the PC if I've already finished it on the PS3?

Yes. Its greatest use is for turning off friction.

GTA4 seems pretty divisive here, I'm considering getting it on PC and I wondered if anyone could recommend any particular mods to improve the playing experience.

The vanilla story experience is fine, and won't be significantly altered by whatever modding you do. For sandbox play, grab Simple Trainer, which opens up an enormous amount of options for both small tweaks and huge changes, like spawning the Statue of Happiness in Star Junction or flying cars.

If you haven't already played EoLC, do so afterwards. They cut out most of the unfun filler missions (stalking cars) and improved motorcycle handling.

SA's R3 missions were really, really boring. They were so easy, and the only part of the difficulty of them was the intense long distance it took to get to each target. The actual missions themselves were boring because there was always so much dead time, especially taxi missions. Like in Los Santos, you'll get 10 minutes on your clock and have to get from one end of the city to the next. Repeat. Seeing as how taxis are the first thing I ever enter whenever I play a Grand Theft Auto to learn all the shortcuts and sights and sounds and some of the more intimate portions of the cities, this was torture.

Speaking of which, in keeping that tradition, when I first played GTAIV I was really angry I couldn't do a taxi mission to learn the streets of Broker.

Roman has taxi missions for a very, very short time.
