Read After Burning posted:Ah, the only good Metallica album. You're one of those, huh? BTW this pressing also has Blitzkrieg and Am I Evil, which is good! But that means it runs about 30 mins per side which... uh, I'll report back in an hour with the sound quality. Frozen Peach posted:Discogs delivery day! reliving my teenage angst. dorium posted:Ooof yeah I’m glad I sought out my megaforce label Metallica records years ago. Got a Kill Em All with a small tear on the back of the cover for $80. Disc looks brand new. Dang. Well the crammed '88 Elektra sounds good. Nice & heavy, downside though is I had to crank my stereo to +10 instead of the usual +3 so naturally there's enough noise on the rare quieter passages like Pulling Teeth to sound there's a piano burning in the background (although that does add a kvlt-ish flavor).

Slight overreaction on the Fresh Fruit disc. The distortions in Jello's voice happen on the same places as it does on the digital, just slightly emphasized. loving lol

https://www.roughtrade.com/us/product/the-smile/a-light-for-attracting-attention-1/vinyl-lp-exclusive-grey-plus-x2 All the mass pressings for this album from what I've heard have been a horror show. Maybe the limited pressing will allow for better QC / hot new stamper? I'mma gamble on it.

I think my biggest vinyl epiphany came when I found a method that successfully clean the poo poo out of vinyl and sound 40-80% less crackly. 2nd was figuring out I had my alignment wrong the whole time. 3rd was learning tube-rolling is a thing. Played Van Halen's 0U812 over the weekend. The vinyl's the fullest that album is ever gonna sound (pretty bright though).

In Rainbows is their masterwork. Although I envy anyone who has a pre-2008 Parlophone copy of OK Computer. Apparently after that point, the original master tapes were lost and so all the Capitol discs are just the CDs pressed on vinyl.

Coming in the mail next week: - Trespass (2018 half-speed master [Nick Davis remix]) - Nursery Cryme (2018 half-speed master [Nick Davis remix]) - Foxtrot (2018 half-speed master [Nick Davis remix]) - Selling England By The Pound (EMI 100 Series) - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (ATCO SD 2-401) - Wind & Wuthering (Nippon RJ-7201)

For some reason I went out with him a few more times, but realized his favourite topic of conversation was reliving his heyday and how many girls were totally into him all the time, but trying to play down like he never really cared about them...I should've taken the Bauhaus clue and peaced out then.
