Got a stupid question but I'm having a brain fart. I had planned to go to Vegas December 24th and return on the 29th. I was checking Expedia for hotel + flight and a couple days ago I got a price of about 800 bucks for a room at the MGM. Now I check and it's over 1000. I was thinking Bellagio though that's getting more to $1500 or Signature/MGM for $950. But then I have to add $100 for resort fees and get to $1050. I've checked out trip advisor, orbitz, and so on. Are there any other sites if convenient to list that might offer good deals?

Otherwise I might just suck it and pay $650ish for a 3 star on the strip like the Rivera...that's a bad idea, right?

For the first time in their lives, my cousins are coming from overseas to visit me in America. I'm having them decide where they want to go but suggested I Vegas as a stop for 5 nights. These are guys from about 22 to 29, I'm 33. We'll be a group of 4. I'm trying to decide on a hotel and don't mind splurging on the trip in general because this is a rare event. We're going to go to other hotels for shows, clubs, the canyon, and explore Vegas or nearby.

The two I'm trying to decide between are the Wynn, seems to get the top reviews, or Cosmopolitan and am leaning the Cosmopolitan because it supposedly has a reputation for catering to the younger crowd and it does look beautiful. I thought about the Palazzo as an alternate.

Anyone stayed at both the Wynn or Cosmo and had thoughts on which they preferred?

How much is it a night at a Cosmo? I'm talking just an average room.

Expedia's showing like 162 a night for 5 nights Monday to Saturday in June as an example. Other people may have better/cheaper methods.

Thanks for the site Jay.

I'm estimating about 6 to 8 grand for 4 if we do what I've got in mind. 5 nights. I've also seen footage but the Cosmo looks beautiful. As does Aria.

Cosmo is the place to stay for the younger hip/party crowd. What did you have in mind regarding rooms?

I was looking at the standard rooms, I figured the point is to enjoy the activities, shows, clubs, etc. I should probably check and compare cost of getting a suite.

Yeah I was looking at 2 rooms with 2 beds. Will check out the Wraparound.

Question. Is there a suite that can house 8 people? If so what'd be the cost of something like that per night Monday through Friday night, leave Saturday? Out of Cosmopolitan, Aria, Vdara, Wynn/Encore, Palazzo/Venetian. Just curious as to a ballpark for a hotel like those. Skyloft?

My cousins, aunt and uncle confirmed to visit Vegas from Monday 6/22 and leave Friday 6/26. I'm a bit torn though. Jay, if you had to chose between Savile Row, Omnia and Absynthe which two would you chose? One option is I can do XS on Monday and Absyinthe on Wednesday with Savile Row on Thursday which is fine but Omnia is new and looks amazing. They've never been anywhere like it in their lives, only seen it in movies.

Absinthe is the best show in Vegas. XS on Monday is one of my favorite parties. Omnia Thursdays is just the patio. You could do Omnia on Tuesday though.

Thank you, will check and see.

They had initially booked the Cosmopolitan but then apparently changed it to the Venetian. Ah well.

In Vegas. Yesterday saw Mystere and it was pretty cool. Never seen a Cirq Du Soleil show but the people were very impressive and skilled.

Going to try to do strip club on Monday, Omnia on Tuesday, Grand Canyon and Absinthe on Wednesday, and race exotic cars and Criss Angel on Thursday. Friday gotta go back.

Sapphire or Spearmint Rhino?

Jay, thank you for your recommendations and info in these threads. My cousins and uncle and aunt had a great time in Vegas. I stayed at the MGM and they stayed at Venetian.

Aunt and Uncle saw and loved KA at MGM and couldn't stop talking about it.

Cousins enjoyed Sapphire, Spearmint Rhino, Omnia, Tao Beach Club and pools at Venetian, Absinthe and we saw Zumanity. Didn't manage to do the car racing thing but saw the Ferrari sales office at Wynn. We tried to figure Craps out but couldn't, did some slots to which they couldn't stop laughing at how quick the money went. One cousin found he loved IPA beer, other hasn't developed the taste for alcohol yet. They really found it memorable. They also loved Shake Shack, never had a burger that good. One cousin has been in US for a week and already is like "WTF? I've got a belly now. Whats in the food?"

The Rhino is dark but packed with beautiful women and seems like a classy strip club I'd expect a top one to be like. Sapphire was very..friendly but easier to see. $44 entry fee is steep and so are what we're like $15 beers. The Omnia Nightclub is amazing with that centerpiece light chandelier that changes shapes and it is beautiful. $1500 for table outside and $2500 inside. They don't accept international licenses so gonna need a passport for foreigners for ID. Tao day club was cool but so small, cousins kept wondering why they didn't make the club around the bigger pool cause what they had was tiny space for water.

Absinthe was great, the acting, style and performance of the actors was awesome. It was classier than Zumanity and it is hilarious to think of it. Zumanity has a great set and atmosphere and concept but execution was kinda eh. KA apparently blew out my aunt and uncles brain.

Grand Canyon was good but we only had time to go to the tourist trap section with the Skywalk. IMO with the food package it is rip off. You have to park and pay for entry by bus which will go to a stop. You can't take pics on the Skywalk, gotta pay for those, but you can take a pic from right the edge right close by for free.

Aunt and Uncle liked Venetian and Caesars Palace the best and thought the Aria felt more like a mall in design and did not like the Cosmopolitan. I and my cousins liked the Venetian, Caesars, Wynn, Bellagio. MGM is solid. Bellagio has an older crowd though. New York New York is kind of a mess of a hotel imo.

When they come back some day they have a better idea too on how and what they need to plan for.

I feel like turning down a threesome for $400 is a mistake. I've had more expensive dinners that didn't end in a threesome.

I might as well have taken it looking back on it but had the thought "Why not just hit up a girl at the Rhino who might be more fun and hotter for the same price." I dunno, thought myself out of it. I've had before so it doesn't feel like I missed out.

Is the Spearmint Rhino as good as they say? Threesome or no threesome.

In being to Sapphire and Rhino, the girls at Sapphire were "friendlier" but Spearmint Rhino had more amazingly gorgeous women and as a club is better. I will say the lighting is darker in the Rhino.

Having just been to Vegas for labor day week.

Masks are mandatory everywhere. Being vaccinated helps. It's not packed to the gills like if it were in prime but there is liveliness, some hotel casinos more packed than others. I got a good deal at the Venetian/Palazzo. I did have an event canceled on me, it was Wynn's Beach Party on a Thursday morning and they refunded me instantly. Wynn's XS interior is also undergoing some renovation. Most everything was open, I did everything else I wanted to and took Uber's off strip to good places. I can't say for everywhere but the Wynn's buffet at least looked closed. Despite being in Vegas, I didn't feel like I was at risk. In my opinion November would be good because going in Sept the temp was 110 degrees and I couldn't even enjoy pool time.

I would think if you've already got visa or authorization to come to the US and if you're vaxxed and mask up, you should be good for domestic flights. Probably just need to show your passport as ID.

Have any goons been to Fontainebleau yet? What's the verdict? And does anyone know the best way to get into CES? Do I really just a need a tech related employer?

I've not stayed at it, but I've been to Fontainebleau and I liked it. It has a good color scheme, blues, creams, gold. It's cavernous with high and tall ceilings which opens the space up which to me is a good thing. Beautiful chandeliers and bar areas underneath. You do have to walk a bit around to get to each restaurant or location but it's not too bad. There are two rideshare areas North and South. It has a lot of slot machines and gaming areas. I'm told the owners are based in or have an influence from Miami for it. One thing to note is that the Uber drivers don't get the right messaging for pick up, they're sent to the wrong location which is nowhere close to your pick up location so that needs to be fixed. I got lucky and got a driver who had experience with that so he picked me up from the right location while other people were waiting forever. Their food court has the standard burgers, pizza, sandwiches, etc. all at higher Vegas pricing and a croissant is around $8.

I imagine some people may say it reminds them of a mall with long escalators.

When I return, I intend to try Mother Wolf.

Is there a "best" Cirque de Soleil show? We're leaning towards O because of the water tank being a cool gimmick, but any recommendations for a different one?

Is Penn and Teller worth it or should we check out a different magic show?

I'd recommend either O at the Bellagio or KA at the MGM, it was a good time.
