I am on the 6th day during Devil Survivor Overclocked and I was winding if there was any events I should try to do to make sure that I don't close myself out of any endings.

I was hoping there was a solution other then either holy or just solder through it. Anyway assuming I can get through the current fight I am in (the one with the six power and six shield all spamming starfish) I should hopefully be done with worry about it for awhile.

Just beat Belberith on Nayto's route. I had tried many again and again the way the game wanted me to handle the fight but kept on losing due to him or one of his minions wiping out a team before I could reach him. I tried again with the simple plan of just abusing Phantasm and just laughed as my MC wiped him out in one round.

The thing is you want strength on a mage build because the most useful attack for dealing with late game bosses requires having 10 strength as without holy damage certain bosses are all but unbeatable.

I am looking to go with Yuzu's route for my first run, both because I like her and I have heard it mentioned here as the best one for beginners, and am wondering when I need to start worrying about qualifying/locking out of specific endings. I've always been very pro-her ideas in dialogue choices and such, and always watch her scenes when she comes up on the map, do I need to do anything else? As long as everybody survives then at the end of day 6 you get a choice about whose path to go on.

So what level should I be for the final boss of Naoya's day 8 route? Also just one more battle and I will have completed the no deaths title challenge. Hopefully that 200 point bonus will be worth the amount of frustration I had when it came to dealing with that self imposed restriction.

Nate RFB posted:Devil Survivor 1's plot is basically a SMT one. Demons invade Tokyo, it gets sealed, and society slowly breaks down. It's not bad, though the main hook for me was the gameplay which is very addictive (and frustrating). DS2 is pretty much just as dumb as you're imagining but if you wind up liking DS1's gameplay enough you might not care and still want to play it. Devil Survivor does do a couple things really well though in terms of plot. With the death clocks it hammers in the fact that unless something is done then people are going to die and in some cases they are going to start dying fast. On a more general note it shows quite well the slow decay of order within the encirclement. At the start a few criminals have gotten hold of the app and while demons were an issue, the number of demons was relatively low. Then as time progressed everything just started to fall apart as various groups went head to head just to prove what they could do. Hell, one of the best fights in the game in terms of story telling is during the last couple days when a demon summoner just flips out and starts attacking people just because he knows that everybody is going to start dying tomorrow due to the death clock so he might as well destroy as much stuff as he can before he dies as well.

I prefer Anti all, Dual Shadow, and an elemental amp of the most appropriate element. When combined with Yin Magic or whatever the X2 damage boost creates an overwhelming offense which can just nuke anything that is not a final boss.

I'm at 1700 on Day 6, trying to decide my route and I think I might just wuss out and do Yuzu's this time (I've been told its the easiest) and then come back on NG+ loaded for bear to do the ending I actually want (Amane). The game is making it sound much harder. My team is level 45-47 for reference. You should be able to handle any route the first time through as long as you are willing to grind at times.

Three times I got near the end where he starts to do that terrible rain attack and it always seems to gently caress me. Do you have the bonus dungeon unlocked yet? If so then just go grind in there as all the shadows are really strong and give a nice amount of exp, especially if you can exploit their weaknesses which at this point should not be a problem. Out of curiosity what Personas do you have and what level are your teammates? In terms of party composition I think Junpei is a better choice then Akihito due to having regeneration. Also if you have an earlier save file then you could also go about making ultimate weapons for your entire team which should also help out as they give +10 to all stats.

I always kind of like Isabeau. Everybody else in the party are these people picked by destiny to determine the fate of the world and stuck in the middle is just an ordinary person trying to make sense of it all. Also she is maybe the bravest character in all of SHTIV in the chaos/law routes as she chooses to willingly fight both the MC (who by that point everybody had come to terms with how dangerous he is) and the most powerful entity of either chaos or law on the planet by herself.

For the most part battles in SMTIV are quick and to the point. Either you wipe out the boss as soon as possible for the longer the battle goes on, the greater the chance the boss smirks and when that happens you are royally hosed.

Sodium Chloride posted:How is the extra day stuff in Overclocked? There are four 8th day paths, one for law, one for escape, and two for chaos. In the law path the focus is stamping out the last remaining issues within the zone before the messiah goes on out to bring the whole world under god's rule. In the escape path your party is forced at gunpoint to go back into the zone and actually sort everything out. The chaos routes both deal with the start of the war against god, with the point of divergence being weather you try and protect the humans who are forced by the Angles to fight you or do you kill everything in your way.

Montegoraon posted:It could be RP related. The arcana could represent a general way a character is supposed to act. If a person shows a strong affinity for an additional arcana through roleplaying, the person running the game could reward them with the option to change to a new persona with the same level, but a different skillset, at any time afterwards. Could be very handy in a pinch. But if a person just abandons their original arcana, or RPs poorly, the GM might reverse their arcana, giving a big penalty to their combat ability until they complete a special quest or something, at which point they either go back to their original, or are forced to change to a new one. So the 3.5 Paladin mechanic then?

Is it just me or is it a lot easier to create broken demons without trying in DS Record Breaker then in Overclocked? I wasn't even trying and I ended up with such demons as a Thor with 31 strength on the third day and a demon with both Bufdyne and Ice Boost on the fourth.

Get a team consisting of two basilisks and one character with petra eyes and unleash them on the vampire. Chances are one of them will hit and then Mari can finish it at her leisure. For Kaido just use an avatar demon to switch with him when he gets to low health and you should be fine. Honestly I kind of like how difficult it is to keep people alive because that is the primary concern of the characters, not the lords of bel or the self defense force, but just trying to keep alive as the world quite literally goes to hell.
