Anyway the good news is he relaunched it last month on patreon. A little disappointing that the whole show is now patreon exclusive but I'm excited he's back.

It's $3 a month... it's awesome and he's doing even MORE chat, small talk and a Q/A session at the end.

this is where i first saw Korn lol

My very first Korn exposure was on their very first US tour opening for Danzig on his 4p tour (in '94?) and I didn't even get to see them play. My friends and I arrived late to the show. Well after Korn had already played. I think Marilyn Manson was actually playing and we hung out with the several members of Korn at the bar. One of my friends asked how they landed on the name for their band and the canned response was a member of the bandwalked in on a friend "tossing someone's salad" and they were "spitting out corn kernels". lol

True story.

With a band as long in the tooth as Incantation, I kind of anticipate a stumble or even mediocre release after 13 (?!?!) albums... However, their new album Unholy Deification is not it. Lots of meaty old school DM riffs and tempo changes packed into this album.

gaerea/blackbraid/ wolves in the throne room live report:

gaerea: these guys are alright but don’t translate well live imo. the singer, mainly. tries very hard to be vessel from sleep token in his theatrics but spent most of the show going “buhhhhh… GUUUuhhhhh?? Denver???? GAEREA!!!!!!”. there’s all sorts of melodies that I like in their music that couldn’t make it through my earplugs.

blackbraid: owned. a lot. a ton of genuine stage energy, music came across really well, more feeling in it than listening to it cold. singer had some pipes, everyone on stage drank a ton, rhythm guitar dude spit in my face. would make a point to go see them no matter who else was on the ticket.

wolves itt: lol they suck a bunch, I’m already in an Uber home, bitch

Despite some tech issues in Blackbraid's set, this show was pretty good! There was a strong outpouring of Native Americans at my date. Several of them would yell out war cries in between songs in Blackbraid's set. Pretty cool to see the support! WitTR's set was also plagued with tech issues. Nathan's guitar kept dropping out, but they finally got that fixed. Strong bill from top to bottom in my opinion.

nthing British Steel and Screaming For Vengeance being their best non-Painkiller work. I'd say from Sad Wings through Painkiller is a solid run, barring missteps like Point of Entry and Turbo.

Point of Entry has a few solid tracks in "Don't Go" and "Solar Angels," and the Ripper Owens era ain't without merit either; "Death Row," "Brain Dead," "Bullet Train," and "Cathedral Spires" are the highlights of Jugulator, and Demolition has "Feed on Me" and "In Between."

Sorry. The drum fills on Heading Out to the Highway from the Point of Entry album are the stuff of dreams.
