There probably wouldn't be a podcast if Rogan got rid of redban. He would have to find someone else nearby who can do a show at a moment's notice, multiple times a week, and have the gear and knowledge to make it happen. Not easy to replace. I think whe redban tries to change the subject, it's because he does 5 other less-interesting shows that stagnate frequently, and his sense is kicking too early. He doesn't seem very bright, but he doesn't talk much anyway so I don't care. One of the things that I like about this podcast is the imperfection anyway. I tried listening to Marc Maron and Jay Mohr's podcasts and don't like them; I think the professionalism turns me off, they seem a little more forced and edited. Like a boring radio show.

redban doesn't deserve 90% of the heckling he gets, but it's hilarious he couldn't even get on wikipedo. Maybe there's a wiki about semi-noteworthy people from ohio

Never tried it, but I took his challenge and tried pricing-out a ripoff stack on Amazon. I got it down to 3 vitamin pills adding up to $.70 per dose shipped. But if you get the 90ct bottle with rogan's discount code, it's $.80 per dose before shipping. I might have wasted my time.

With the little research I did, I know the ingredient he's talking about is mucuna pruriens extract, which has some l-dopa naturally. It looks like you can get it at any vitamin store, it's not shocking that they put it in there. But he raises a good point, since this is a big cocktail and that's just one of 10 ingredients that can be put into question. At the very least, they could get rid of some useless "antioxiadants", and a couple of parts that really look like new-age snake oils. Then people can have a better idea of what they're putting in their body. I must be a sucker because I intend to try out alpha-gpc, gaba and inositol. Those are the things where people at least have an explanation of why they work and how they interact. Trying out ginkgo (speaking of placebos) was enough to gently caress with my sleep cycles, so i'd rather not take 10 weird vitamins at once, which is what you're doing with alpha brain. But I did try C2O today, so I guess advertizing really does work on me

looks like redban took down part-2 of last weekend's icehouse show, so i watched my downloaded copy. Don't know why it got banned, but there was a mega awkward moment when some porn girl's family visited, one of the guests got confronted about being a phony LA buddhist, and you can see the bong getting passed around

If you're watching the video podcasts, you can just fast forward until the title screen is gone. Personally, I don't care that much about the ads. This show is at least partially in the background for me; I don't give a talk show my undivided attention for a solid 3 hours, even though I enjoy it.

Bryan and Jimmy was a good ep, I liked it. Jimmy steals the show if you ask me. I'd say skip the Jason Silva ep, the guy is full of poo poo and joe makes the same points he always makes. edit: there is a good part where they riff on an R. Kelly video but that's all Demie fucked around with this message at 08:14 on Feb 10, 2012 |

redban doesn't chime in very much at all on Bryan's show, if it makes you feel any better. Except maybe the first ep, cause that was more like a joe rogan show.

Advice posted:I don't mean to sound like a dickweed, but I used to go to raves a lot and the general consensus is that deadmau5 is a sellout and a loser. I never subscribed to those ideas, he makes good music, and I figured I would probably try to make as much money as I could too in his position, so who was I to judge him? But listening to the podcast made me lose what respect I might have had. He has the single most ignorant view of mind-altering drugs I've ever heard. Considering his success being due largely in part to people dropping E or smoking weed and going to raves to listen to him, it blew me away that he has this mindset that his music is "above that" and that you "don't need those things to enjoy his music like some other music out there" because it's so technical or advanced or whatever the gently caress he thinks. Not to get all :joerogan: but the afformentioned drugs make virtually any and all music better, hands down. They stimulate the mind in such a way that it's like observing the music with a different sense or something. Or maybe you're just hosed up. Point is, he's the last artist who can say he's above that poo poo, and he just came across as totally condescending. If I came from a scene like this, I wouldn't think much about betraying it.
