I gravitated towards the Greens, eventually even joining the party itself.

The Linke is a party I grudgingly accept exists, but I've learned enough about DDR-history I can't bring myself to trust a party that was once the SED, a party leading the corrupt state apparatus ...

Forsooth, 'tis quite warm today

but to cool everyone down, I'd like to present a video of the ZDF-adjacent/parented unbubble-channel that took it upon themselves to ask a very important question, namely "Sollte the AfD verboten werden?".
I've seen maybe two of these videos that are Deutsch-adaptions of the Jubilee channel, and they were between "meh" to "lol", but if you have around half an hour of disposable free time on 1.25/1.5x, see if you can spot the one participant that, uh..."stands out a bit".

Look!
If you want to get a more concrete answer you could try getting in touch with the HR dept at a relevant institution (that ideally has a position open so they're more keen to look into it). They'd be the ones who have experience with this kind of stuff I reckon. lmao at that response time though

If you want to make the whole process as easy as possible you probably want to buy autoflowering seeds (usually just called auto on the seed sites). They will just grow and flower on their own and you don't have to mess around with grow lights.

It's a weed. For ~6 hours a day I recommend not standing or sitting on it and you shouldn't use the pot as a disposal for old motor oil/solvents.

Get a Steckling from someone who had a successful grow with that plant and they can tell you all about it. There's a good chance they even have weed from that grow so you can test it. If you are talking about "ordering on the internet"-sources, no idea. If you live within a reasonable distance from Frankfurt something might turn up in ~2 weeks.

I know if you have 0 plants, there is no smell. I can guarantee that with >15 indoor plants and no filter it will be noticeable in the neighborhood, especially on warm summer days when the air is moving very little. If it doesn't, your plants are poo poo.

Nope, while growing. Shortly after they start flowering they start smelling, so you can enjoy it for 4-6 weeks.

I've had multiple grows destroyed by Mehltau, it can be a bitch. Especially with variants that have a very thick cola (Blütenstock?). I usually go with Dutch Passion, Sensi Seeds is probably good too, but they are pricey. Both websites allow you to sort by flowering time, so if you are impatient, get something like Early Girl or similar. Also if you grew up in the 90s, the average THC content of modern plants will blow your mind. Maybe try to go with Sorten that have "low" THC. Also better to harvest later than early, otherwise you risk getting a harvest that smells like Heu. Not good. But there's so much information online, it's a rabbit hole.

The smell when they start flowering is really, really bad. Even if you can deal with it, your neighbors will likely complain about it. Just go with a tent and an activated charcoal filter, it's not really worth all the drama. A tent is the sane and polite option in an apartment. Don't be that rear end in a top hat that tries to keep chickens and a cock in a hochhauswohnung

If your grow light has different color temperature LEDs installed then you can just trigger flowering yourself. Otherwise go with some auto flowering seeds.

You know, The Netherlands is an example of how early progress can lead to stagnation and regression if half measures are implemented. In our case decriminalizing cannabis was groundbreaking at the time but not legalizing the supply side in any way led to heaps of problems that we, 50-odd years later, are still struggling with, have arguably gotten worse and are only just now starting to address.

It seems like you guys are headed in a similar direction where a half-assed law will keep giving states that are unfriendly like Bavaria ways to effectively neuter the law by policing it very strictly.

So it seems like you didn't make the same mistakes that we did, just different ones.

Fun little update: it seems like Germany has managed to do a legalisation through the backdoor by making medicinal cannabis no longer a Betäubungsmittel but a simple medicine that any doctor can prescribe. There's currently a number of teledoctors who will prescribe you weed for a number of issues with little problems and little costs.

I actually tried two of them last week and got both recipes by now, and will receive legal, medicinal grade weed in a few days time.

These providers and all pharmacies that offer delivery are super swamped right now, but once the first rush is dealt with I expect a stabilisation and subsequent gold rush from other providers. If this was as intended by karlchen hut ab, if not welll definitely a fun surprise.

With this Anbauvereine are kinda dead in the water and there's already reddit posts about dealers panicking because they are now obsolete over night.

I really whish they would go as hard against drinking. There is a small public area here that used to have kids playing and has hundreds of school age kids passing though daily but now the local alkies have taken over and you hear them screaming obscenities as early as 9 am regularly. This is a known problem that was escalated to Bezirksausschuss and higher but nobody cares.

Because it's just alcohol.

I think the reasoning there is that drinking is seen as a personal failing and those drunks would have ended up in a similar situation without alcohol due to their Charakterschwäche. Weed otoh is the devil and transforms you no matter how virtuous you are.

It's a lovely view on addiction but I have encountered it pretty often.

I think one of the issues with alkis taking up a spot is that you can’t vertreib them because that’ll just move the problem elsewhere and you’d have to take actual meaningful measures on a systemic level which is just :effort:

Well, all the rules applying to Canabis would help a lot with that:

No drinking in front of kids.
No drinking in sight of schools.
No drinking in Fußgängerzonen from 7-20 except when sat down in a restaurant.

Exceptions for Oktoberfest apply of course because Bavaria.

And then just enforce it. Even if just by forcing the culprits to wash their stuff down the next Gulli. You do that to them a couple of times and they won't come back because they can't afford to rebuy it all time and time again.

I love mah beer and drinking outside but at this point, considering the way weed is handled, would absolutely be for more restrictions.

Alcohol is insanely bad for you and society and while I think EigENverAntOrtUng should apply and people should do what they please, the Verherrlichung needs to stop.

Looking back at my childhood and adulthood alcohol isn't just accepted, it's glorified. And that's a problem.

Idea: doing sports is healthy.

Research: compare the groups
1. member of a sports club
2. not
on health indicators (e.g. life expectancy, frequency of severe diseases, physical fitness etc.)

Result: no difference whatsoever.

Baffled scientists: Uhm, more detailed research is necessary.

Final result: the beneficial results of the sport itself are definitely there, statistically proven.
However, the earlier socialisation with alcohol culture for minors in German sports clubs makes these benefits null and void.

Cool, huh?
