SpacePig posted:I'm the same way with Gentle Alarm. The math is just x*y+a*b. They make me solve 2, but it's the same formula. Is there any way to make these a bit harder? You can increase the difficulty to two digit numbers, increase the number of equations you have to solve(up to 5), and decrease the time limit, but it's always that formula. e: And there's that "remember the path"-puzzle, but that's even easier

Odette posted:Does anyone know if there is an Android lockscreen that requires a 4+ digit numerical passcode but digits appear in random order on screen, to prevent people from 'reading' the passcode via smudges on the screen? There was a lockscreen that basically looked like this: [OK] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] you had to enter the key, and then swipe down across the keys the commit it, wiping any smudges. I can't remember what it was called, but maybe someone else remembers.

odiv posted:Is there a way to restrict access to my contact list and call history, but still update an app? Increasingly, apps of all types are starting to require these permissions so I'm sitting on a dozen update requests. Cyanogenod (and possibly other roms) allows you to disable all permissions an app wants. Depending on how the app is coded it will either crash, refuse to work or carry on without that permission.

FastestGunAlive posted:Hey guys, any recommendations on a Japanese app? I'm visiting and I would like to learn basic phrases and kanji. I took a year of Japanese in college but I don't remember anything; I think having an app handy would help me remember. If anyone knows a good iOS app that works as well but I prefer Android. I know there are a number of language apps out there so I wanted to see if anyone had experience with them https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Obenkyo If you need to look up stuff: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nick.wwwjdic + https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nick.kanjirecognizer and if you need a japanese keyboard, Google has a nice one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.japanese

berzerker posted:Yes, if you want to enter it every time you use your phone and also clean off the fingerprints each time so it's not completely obvious which four (or fewer) digits you press for your pin. 3 unique digits are actually more "secure" in this scenario than 4 With 4 distinct prints, you have to try 24 permutations. If there are only 3 prints, you have to try 36 times, because you don't know which number is the repeated one

Pocketcasts remembers your position for every file, but it only plays podcasts it downloaded (so it's not a music player that you just can point at any file on your sdcard)

RVProfootballer posted:Setting up your secondary Gmail account to forward to your primary should do what you want. When you send email, you can change which account it is sent from just by a pull down menu in the email draft itself. When you reply, it should default to which account received the email. Obviously this will change things for your email on PC or other devices and may not be what you want, but I think this is your only way to "unify" your inboxes in the Gmail Android app. Both forwarding your work email to a private account or forwarding your private mail to your work account sound like bad ideas though (that obviously depends on your employer).

Kind of. To directly record your phone calls you need to be rooted, but there are apps that turn on your speaker and record that.

Is the smart lock stuff good enough for you? You can set up certain trusted locations, nearby Bluetooth.devices and the "On-Body-Detection"... Then, you need to unlock the phone once. Now the phone will stay unlocked, until you either manually lock it (tap the lock icon on the lockscreen), or none of the smart unlock criteria apply anymore. (So if you are at a trusted location, it stays unlocked as long as you're there, but if you leave and come back, it will be locked again) http://get.google.com/smartlock/
