There's also Hardcore Tactical Shooter, but I don't think it has any chance to succeed.

They should probably shop their game around, get in contact with RPS or some other major gaming blogs.

I didn't donate, but I wouldn't mind paying for an actual good, tactical shooter in the vein of SWAT 4 if they ever manage to release it.

Kind of hard to pimp the latest zombie game when you have Shadowrun getting all the attention. It does allow SP, Versus, and MP survival. I think the game world is like as big as Minecraft.

I am curious how it will be a massive world, tons of objects you can grab off the ground to make into other things, and fend off constant attacks by undead, with other people, on such a small goal? Such a game might receive constant updates and hopefully be easy to mod, unlike Minecraft. Being able to test the game should make me feel better since I always wanted a well made Fort Zombie. It would be sweet if you can build up a fort so much and find that supplies just won't hold out forever, so you need to either spread far out to get more supplies and risk returning to an overrun fort, or go to a new area that will allow a new opportunity to do things.

I imagine they will either use some map tools to scan the world and get us a very low detail world with assets randomly sprinkled around in it or just build a whole bunch of building blocks and spread them around semi-randomly.

There is no way video games will crash, what probably will crash are series. Guitar Hero and other rhythm games already died due to oversaturation and I can see something similar happen with the Call of Duty series and its many clones.

Some info on Jane Jensens kickstarter, its a spiritual sequel to Gabriel Knight. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/04/16/jane-jensens-next-game-is-moebius/#more-104027

As fas as I understood it, yes it's like the NWN toolkit but with a lot more options and even more build towards it without as much as the pretension of having an actual existing campaign in there.

I don't really care about the game, but they should have at least publicly given a reason for the shutdown instead of just shutting it down.

Al Lowe (from Leisure Suit Larry) apparently started a second kickstarter:

Also with Ken Wegrzyn and Steve Ince.

The rewards kinda own, you can get yourself naked in the game if you want for some godforsaken reason but you can also get a private concert by Al Lowe.

Being able to get a video card worth 130 bucks with a kickstarter pledge of 325 bucks seems like a good deal if you are interested in supporting it. They mention they are working with the video card company, but still I wonder how much this is costing them.

I had way more problems with Fallout 3 then i ever had with any of the Obsidian games. No inquisitions calling for Bethesda blood though. Mass Effect also had a lot of graphical glitches, some persistent through all 3 games. Obsidian is nothing in comparison to Troika anyway, now those guys made some buggy rear end games.

Weird references considering Dragon Age 1 was hailed as a come back to old school rpg's and the Gothic series started as some as the most gently caress you hard games ever.

I don't see why updates should be for backers only, after all they are just a form of pr. You don't go hiding a trailer behind a paywall either, especially not one open only until a certain time. The DF documentary maybe, but that is on a somewhat different level of costs for the producers then some text and a few pictures/a bit of video.

They are German but develop the series together with an Ukrainian company. They are big enough that they should be able to have a guy open an American account though, I've seen smaller European companies do it (my tiny rear end country has 3 kickstarters running right now concurrently).

edit: Actually I asked them on their facebook. They said they are planning on using kickstarter further on in development.
