I'm looking at getting either 2 2312hm's or 2 2412m's and have posted a few times in the monitor thread but I think this question belongs here. I currently have a 570gtx card and was wondering if that will be enough to power 2 of those monitors. I'd like to play in 1080p on one monitor while still being able to work on the other one. Will this card be enough or should I begin thinking about getting a 670 (which I already was after I stop being indecisive about monitors)?

movax posted:If you just want to game on one monitor, the 570 GTX is plenty. If you want to do surround-gaming, in post 2, Factory Factory goes over some of the GPU options suggested for multi-monitor gaming setups. Ok, I'm kinda computer stupid so I didn't know if I was supposed to combine the resolutions of the monitors and pick a card based on that or what. Thanks for the quick response.

Would a gtx570 be able to drive 2 of those Korean 27inch monitors? I would probably only game on one of them because I like to have a separate monitor for all my other stuff. I'd just like to know before I pull the trigger on 2 of them and discover my video card can't keep up. I currently am gaming at 1680x1050 so it would be a huge upgrade.

Factory Factory posted:In terms of frames per second, it'd be a compromise. Lowered details, no AA, etc. You might even consider just setting everything to 1920x1080 with high details and letting the video card scale it up. Yeah, that's what I was planning on doing. Since I already game at such a low resolution (comparatively) I was just going to go to 1080p and leave it there. I just wanted to make sure I had enough juice to make the monitors go. I'm perfectly willing to go without AA and turn some details down. Thanks for the help buddy.

So I have a gtx 570 and recently I've been noticing that only in game cutscenes that the top half of the game is cut off and is black. The cinematic plays totally normally on the bottom half of the monitor but the top is sharply cut in half at the midpoint of the monitor horizontally. The monitors are 2 u2312hm monitors. Any idea what might be causing this?

Kazinsal posted:970s retail for $400-450 + tax (12%) up here so buying a nearly-new one from an idiot panicking about VRAM on Craigslist seems like a good idea (I only have $350 and I need to get a new CPU cooler as well to replace the open loop water system I have). Why not get one from Amazon for 350?
