So I'm looking to play FF XII for the first time. Is it preferable to play Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System or just the regular version?

That loving Sned posted:Yeah, International Zodiac Job System is the way to go. It makes you specialise your characters, so you don't end up with six interchangeable ones. There are various tweaks and improvements, such as removing the ridiculous requirements for getting the Zodiac spear (including not opening certain chests at the beginning of the game), and most importantly, there's now a speed-up button that makes the game run three times as fast. Is that necessarily a bad thing? FF7 pretty much had fairly interchangeable characters as well.

So I'm playing FFXII Zodiac and I'm wondering if there are "optimal" job choices for each character. I'm going to assume that Vaan should be a Hunter, am I correct?

His role is kinda filled by two other characters (piercing - Auron; fast, fairly accurate attacks - Tidus). Also his overdrive isn't particularly great overall. He can serve as a really useful early thief, before you get Rikku and you can also make him into a fairly decent mage, later on, so he isn't completely terrible.

Has the original Final Fantasy Tactics aged well? I've been thinking of picking up the War of the Lions version, but I'm not sure how it holds up to the more recent titles. I've played through FFTA and FFTA2, but the original looks fairly complex with the point systems for jobs/skills, as well as stats like Bravery and Faith. Also I've heard that the game is very difficult, but just how difficult is it?

I am enjoying FF13. Initial complaints of the story being difficult to understand and hard to follow seem greatly exaggerated.

does safer sephiroth actually use supernova more than once or is it a one time use move i ended up killing him after he used it on me once either way it owns is it actually the longest animation for any enemy in a final fantasy game

steiner's thunder slash has like a 0% chance to hit pretty much all (with a few exceptions) enemies in the game, due to a bug in the way the move was programmed or something that's probably one of the things that could be fixed
