Oh boy. Impressive.

God that was dissapointing.

Having found out about the 2001 bullshit, someone should do a fan edit with thousands of ships and 400000 dudes on the beach.

Can't even lie, genesys is one of my favorite bad movies. It knows it sucks and it dives headfirst into "don't give a gently caress" and just unleashes crazy poo poo.

Salvation is the only one I truly dislike from start to finish. The rest of them all have something appealing to me in them somewhere.

Ermey, while he did a fine job, basically backstabbed the guy who'd already been cast as the gunney sergeant to get the part. That guy elended up playing the 'GET SOME' door gunner.

I'm sorry, but this used to be a good thread until all you unfunny fucks started talking about Muppets

Part of this thread is having to wait until the subject becomes germane to you, or moving the subject along. For example the appeal of anime in any form is completely opaque to me, and it regularly crops up in this thread, but I deal with it by ignoring the discussion (because it isn't relevant to my interests) and either raising my own SMM, or overtly engaging with someone trying to change the subject. Much more helpful than me yelling 'lmao weebs'.

That's generally King's whole thing.

Which if you can get behind, great. For me, I struggle with it, because while King is not interested in providing explanations, the characters in his books also aren't interested in finding one. If a portal opened up in my pantry, it's one thing to go on an adventure through it, but I don't think I'd ever stop asking or wondering or trying to figure out why there is a portal in my pantry. King's characters just shrug it off and go on to experience some fantasy horror.

This is mostly true, but my unspoken corollary was that the times he does try to explain things, it sucks rear end.

I dunno, the 70's is filthy. The French Connection, Dirty Harry, The Exorcist, Midnight Cowboy, Taxi Driver… all grimy as gently caress.
