I'm also willing to to add something (like another of my picks?) if it means getting a very good pitcher. If I'm not getting a pitcher good enough to bump Tim Hudson from 5th starter into the bullpen then I won't move the pick for pitching. I could use help in the OF if not at P because as it stands Matt Stairs has a legit shot at starting against RHP for me... My bullpen is a disaster (Jason Isringhausen as closer) so I can't really offer up any bullpen help to sweeten a deal.

I have a pile of OF depth if anyone needs to stock up on platoon or bench OFers. I have 1980 Andre Dawson, 1980 Tim Raines (Who was still a 2B prospect at the time if you're really desperate for a 2B...), 1980 Ellis Valentine, 1999 Matt Stairs, 1970 Merv Rettenmund, and 1970 Don Buford (another guy who technically played 2B/3B that season too). If you're in a pinch for a backup C I could move one of 1999 Ramon Hernandez or 1970 Elrod Hendricks, too. I can also move 1970 Davey Johnson for anyone who needs a good defensive 2B. Obviously no SL stars, but I'm looking for late picks or relief pitchers, not asking for a lot.

That reminds me of something I was wondering. I've never used BBM before and was wondering about the ratings system. I see young guys have numbers like (78/94) next to their names when I go back and look at rosters. I assume the first number is current skill and the next one is potential. Can guys reach that potential in-season or is that just a number that they could reach if we were to play this as a franchise for a few consecutive seasons?

Before I post my final roster, I thought I'd post these two two guys left on my feeders: OF/1B '70 Don Baylor - 21 year old power and speed who you could probably platoon effectively 3B '99 Eric Chavez - 21 year old on base dude who plays great D. Another good platoon option In case anyone thinks they could use them and wants to trade me picks or a minor league SP option better than Kevin Appier for one of them. I also have a pile of 1990s relievers for desperate bullpen situations, and a Matt Stairs. Because having a Matt Stairs can never be a bad thing.

Smasher Dynamo posted:So if I start carving out exceptions to that rule, I increase the risk of owners making bad decisions, and that's not good for anyone. And yeah, that means that there's a chance that Gary Carter will blow out his knee and then Elrod Hendricks gets hit by a car, and then Ramon Hernandez falls into the Springfield Mystery Spot, and you'll be left without a catcher, and that would suck. Then again, a) that's not very likely and b) setting up exceptions like that sets a bad precedent. This all make sense and I guess I'll take your word for it and stop fretting about my 4th string catcher situation anymore! If I have to. I guess. Humph. As for CF, 2000 Garret Anderson played most of his games in centre that year and the year before so I thought he might be okay. I figured Tim Raines had enough range to cover it in a pinch, and I thought Valentine's speed and all-time great throwing arm might translate okay to emergency CF duties.
