Okay, here is the updated roster (all I did was kick kenny rogers off the team, put 1970 dave mcnally in his place in the rotation, and 1970 mike cuellar replaced Steve Rogers in the minors because I had Rogers on the roster twice. As for a logo I won't be able to do it until 11pm EST tonight when I get home to an actual computer, but I'm totally okay with you just using the default logo or whatever if you want to get moving because it's not like the logo is going to be fancy or special.

Jim Palmer - 408 days (way out for season)

Just my only competent pitcher NBD. Let's rearrange some deck chairs I guess!

Is it possible to flip the baker bowl so it's a mirror image of itself? I'll likely end up neutralising my stadium out in the end (is it common for people to think that a gimmick stadium will be fun until actually playing half the expansion cup in one?) but maybe I can help out my right handed hitters a bit with a new stadium wall.

Please put Raines and Jim Palmer on the DL. Please call up David Palmer to replace Jim Palmer in the rotation, and call up John Jaha. Please make Isringhausen the closer and Pete Richert the setup man. Also, I think I'm supposed to have 1999 Doug Jones in my minor leagues, am I wrong?

New lineups!

It depends on the pitcher, but unless they have some relief experience, you don't want them pitching in the 7-8-9 role, because they are stretched out to pitch on several days rest for innings at a time, not one inning for a few games a week. Mogul is not kind to tired pitchers.

Now, middle relief, there's a case to be made for a swingman type - get a few innings out of him once or twice a week in a blowout or in case the starter's ineffective, but a bullpen arm is safer. Long relief should always be an actual starting pitcher, since we sim a week at a time, and you don't have the luxury to bring up a spot starter from the minors on a day to day basis.

Don't use deadballers unless you have hot-poo poo fielders - relievers come in with men on base quite often, so you want strikeouts, or at the very least, GIDPs.

Who were you thinking of using there?

I was thinking I might put 1980 Dave Palmer as my long reliever because my bullpen is very very bad.

E: I'm picking 4th overall right now, if anyone in the spots below me want to move up a bit, I'd be willing to move down a few slots for bullpen help!

I'm also willing to to add something (like another of my picks?) if it means getting a very good pitcher. If I'm not getting a pitcher good enough to bump Tim Hudson from 5th starter into the bullpen then I won't move the pick for pitching. I could use help in the OF if not at P because as it stands Matt Stairs has a legit shot at starting against RHP for me...

If you're in a pinch for a backup C I could move one of 1999 Ramon Hernandez or 1970 Elrod Hendricks, too. I can also move 1970 Davey Johnson for anyone who needs a good defensive 2B.

I understand why expansion teams have their minors limited to 5 players so they don't bring a bunch of poo poo into the league, but in the instance that an expansion team were to have a rash of injuries to their catchers, would they be allowed to bring up an emergency catcher from their feeder team mid season or something?

So if I start carving out exceptions to that rule, I increase the risk of owners making bad decisions, and that's not good for anyone. And yeah, that means that there's a chance that Gary Carter will blow out his knee and then Elrod Hendricks gets hit by a car, and then Ramon Hernandez falls into the Springfield Mystery Spot, and you'll be left without a catcher, and that would suck. Then again, a) that's not very likely and b) setting up exceptions like that sets a bad precedent.

And for that matter, if you feel like worrying over injuries to your team, I'd worry more about your center field situation. You're starting '06 Ken Griffey Jr., who's getting on in years, and whose tenure in Cincinnati was marked by constant injuries. If he goes down, then what? Well, you have '80 Tim Raines, but he's very green, and spent most of his career in left field because of a weak throwing arm. Behind him? Powell can't play center. Valentine can't play center. Old Frank Robinson can't play center. Old Tim Raines can't play center. Garret Anderson can't play center. Now, I think Tim Raines could probably hold down the fort if he had to, but my point is that this center field depth problem is one that you're much more likely to face that two or three of your catchers suffering long-term injuries.

In summary, don't worry about it too much.

This all make sense and I guess I'll take your word for it and stop fretting about my 4th string catcher situation anymore! If I have to. I guess. Humph.

As for CF, 2000 Garret Anderson played most of his games in centre that year and the year before so I thought he might be okay. I figured Tim Raines had enough range to cover it in a pinch, and I thought Valentine's speed and all-time great throwing arm might translate okay to emergency CF duties. It doesn't matter though, because Griffey is going to be just fine out there. You'll see!!!
