The CR-Z's mileage is downright terrible for a Prius-sized hybrid. Which is weird because I had a 2010 Insight (which is basically a bigger CR-Z) with the same motor and the CVT transmission, and I regularly got in the high 40s for mileage.

I remember my Dad was interested in the supercharged Thunderbird when they came out, and there was this teeny tiny Ford Dealership waaaaaay up in a tiny town, Barton VT. We went in and when my Dad expressed interest in the car, the guy gave him the plate and they keys and said "If you don't come back in 48 hours, I'll just assume you bought it"

Linedance posted:Our family once owned an Oldsmobile Omega. I learned to drive in it. It was brown. That's all I remember about it and that's probably for the best. My folks had an Omega from when I was teeny tiny to the mid 80s. They started in a Chevy Citation, but I guess the early ones had lovely transmissions (or they got a Lemon, I don't remember) and they traded up for a Omega with a stick. It was an 82 I think, and I have lots of early memories of that red velour. I remember being 6 and my mom letting me shift the gears when we were driving to the supermarket. She'd tell me when and I'd move the stick.

I maintain this started when everyone's dash started being lit 24/7 whenever the car is on. Time was you could look down and go "I can't see my dash! Oh, the lights are off" and turn your headlights on. Now, with the dash lit all the time and DRLs you never know your headlights are off.

White plate, reflective green letters. They're still good too if the registration has been kept in good standing since you were issued the plate too, so you see them very occasionally still.

Dr. Garbanzo posted:The biggest problem with the commodore and falcon going under in Australia is they are the general car that the Highway Patrol cops tend to use. I know when it was first announced last year they put a tender out to see if they could get a replacement set of vehicles from a single manufacturer for all cars across the fleet. I'd say that only Mercedes has the range of cars that will fit with the police force. They want high powered stuff for HWP but also need lower powered models for everyday stuff as well as vans and the rest. In the past Ford and Holden have filled most of these needs and more lately Hyundai and Mitsubishi. Just have them import some of these like every Police force in the US did once Ford announced that they'd stop making the Crown Vic.
